ITV released a first look at the festive special, Royal Carols: Together At Christmas, which is due to air on Christmas Eve on ITV. The Christmas carol service took place at Westminster Abbey last week, and was hosted by the Duchess of Cambridge and supported by The Royal Foundation. The Duchess brought together charities and volunteers who have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic for the carol concert at Westminster Abbey. Royal Carols: Together At Christmas will air on Christmas Eve at 7:30pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
MIU MIU cotton-trimmed cashmere-jacquard cardigan
Magnifique cardigan dont la couleur rouge lui sied à merveille même si je l'aurais préféré de couleur verte pour être en harmonie avec sa somptueuse chevelure ; le porte t-elle avec un pantalon ou une jupe noire ?
ReplyDeleteThis is not my favorite look. I wish the Duchess would dress a bit more sophisticated.
ReplyDeleteThis cardigan is a miss for me. It looks like a German dirndl cardigan what women usually would wear for the Octoberfest in Munich.
ReplyDeletePersonally, the outfit is too christmassy, she could pass for Santa's assistant and the jacket seems a bit too big .... and the hair is also styled too girly. Lately, especially with the extra-long hair, it feels like she's going back in time, just after her wedding. I don't like it that much. I like the age-appropriate styled Kate. Frieda
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful cardigan, gorgeous splash of colour, very festive. This shade suits the Duchess beautifully. Her inner loveliness shines through loud and clear here, she has a wonderful demeanor.
ReplyDeleteI like the cardigan on the model but on Catherine it seems a bit too much. Maybe a simpler hairstyle would have been better this time.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with you, Gemma; in a way to me it looks like a children's cardigan.

Agree specially hairstyle. Too much artificial curls
DeleteI agree on the exaggerated hairstyle. On most photos of Catherine I cannot get past the hair, which always seems to be overpowering. ~Laurel~
DeleteMe encanta esta chaqueta. Muy alegre.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cardigan; she shines in it!
ReplyDeleteVery appropriate for the Christmas season.
Perfect Xmas cardigan! Very pretty on Kate and setting the festive tone of the program.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you!!!! ~ Patricia
DeleteAbsolutely agree, perfect for the occasion!

It is Christmas season so this cardigan is ok but her hair are much too long and too curly .
ReplyDeleteAva
I wonder if she is using hair extensions ? If not it is time to cut it shorter.
DeleteTogether with the cardigan she looks like a little girl from the 50-ies.
This is exactly my opinion too.
DeleteI read somewhere that she has hair extensions but I can not say it is true or not.
DeleteAva
This is a NO for me, I read somewhere else that the price tag is £1,500, ( of course it’s cashmere) but it looks like the typical ugly Christmas sweater that you can get for $30 in any department store.
ReplyDeleteCherry
Remember the Peanuts: “how do you like my naturally curling hair?”
ReplyDeleteToo long, too curly for me,
Josh
I agree yes and not fan of the color neither. It's the right time for the cardigan .
DeleteI completely agree. She needs to cut a few inches off that hair. It is starting to look pathetic at her age.
Delete@MaryT I don't like the color of her hair either. I can understand the desire to warm up dark hair, but I think subtle hi-lites and low-lites would accomplish the job. The curls she is wearing now are confusing me. It is almost like she doesn't know what to do with her hair. She is keeping Charlotte's hair shorter when this is the most fun time for a girl to have long hair, that is unless Charlotte doesn't want it too long. ~d
DeleteThe cardigan is beautiful, but not for Catherine more for her daughter Charlotte.
ReplyDeleteHer hair has grown too long now and I prefered her natural darker look. She was a beautiful brunette once. I don't understand why women always will change their natural hair colour while most of the time it doesn't look better.
Agree on all points made.
DeleteHere you can see the bias, because on every other adult royal woman, this cardigan would be called horrific.
ReplyDeleteIt's not horrific per se, it looks like a lovely cardigan for a little girl, the kind of thing Gabriella would wear and look adorable in. Even on teenage Princesses like Eleonore or Leonor, it would look very cute in my opinion. But for Catherine or another adult woman - nope!
It costs 1500$ because it's MiuMiu and cashmere, but come on! It's not worth that, MiuMiu or not.
You are not wrong. I usually have the feeling she is dressing how she thinks she is supposed to, not how she would have if she had not married William. Sometimes it is a success. More often than not, I think it is too safe and feels like part of an approved "uniform". When she dresses for off duty shopping, for example, her personal taste is more age appropriate. This MiuMiu sweater belongs on Charlotte. A total waste of money. ~d
DeleteAs much as I love the Duchess, I am not a fan of this sweater. If it was a red without the embellishments, but with a Peter Pan collar, it would be okay. As is, it looks juvenile. I agree that her hair is too long. In my opinion, she is past the age where she can wear long ringlets. A shorter, softer hairstyle would be better.
ReplyDeleteBet she can sing her Christmas Carol in style....!
ReplyDeleteI hope she will continue to buy this brand it is awesome with great eye for detail.
But what can you expect for that price...much...and she has the figure to show it of.-Anna-
The cardigan is festive, christmassy and if you zoom in, very delicate (which is the exact opposite of everything a dirndl can ever offer). I had a look on the net-a-porter site and if worn with a simple black midi skirt like the model (of whom we also only see a part) or with black pants, the whole silhouette with the cardigan ending at the waist is beautiful. To judge it based on a photo of the duchess ending somewhere above the waist, not knowing what else she wears, is, well, maybe just a bit superficial. - As for her hair, obviously she is a fan of these curls, but it dominates every outfit. What a pity nobody talks her out of it. (-Ann.)
ReplyDeleteWell, -Ann, sadly you are very wrong about the intricate, elaborate and delicate designs Dirndls can truly offer. Very wrong, indeed.

DeleteI am very wrong? You mean: you have a different opinion? That's fine, I have and keep mine. By the way: I did not write "intricate and elaborate", I wrote and meant "delicate". And I did not include so called "Nobeldirndl". (-Ann.)
That hair! Gosh I wish she'd cut it, stop with the exaggerated curls and pulling it over her shoulders so she looks like she has basset hound ears. It's really unbecoming.
ReplyDeleteNot sure about the cardigan, red has an obvious warmth and Christmas spirit about it, but the collar is probably a bit juvenile for my liking.
She seems to have reduced or changed her make-up lately, more subtle without any harsh eyeliner and less mascara??
She is lovely and l like the sweater but her hair is too long. I don’t particularly like the curls either.
