Grand Duke Henri, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie of Luxembourg visited the exhibition "Viv (r) e la Matiere" held in connection with the 3rd biennale "De Mains De Maitres (Hands of Masters)". The exhibition is being held at the Arbed building (19 Liberte). Guillaume and Stephanie had attended the opening of the exhibition last week.
The works displayed at the exhibition reflect the talent and know-how of 70 artisans from Luxembourg and also from Germany, Belgium (guest of honor of the 2021 edition) and France. The biennale is open to the public until Sunday, November 28, 2021.
Following the unprecedented success of the first exhibition "De Mains De Maitres" in December 2016, Hereditary Prince Guillaume and Hereditary Princess Stephanie decided to continue their action to support Luxembourgian artisans and creators of art. Therefore, the exceptional event "De Mains de Maitres" became the Biennale "De Mains De Maitres".
Stephanie: lovely blouse (maybe strange material? It clings in weird ways), amazing earrings, meh trousers, meh hairstyle
ReplyDeleteMaria Teresa - clothing: No. Just no.
Stephanie is a lovely woman but she really needs to up her fashion game.
ReplyDeleteShe doesn't have to be trendy, just more professionally attired.
She's representing her country.
...Marie
Totally agree.
DeleteGive her a stylist...
The gentlemen win the fashion contest here, sorry ladies ! ;-)
ReplyDeleteMaguy
Both Ladies look lovely :/
ReplyDeleteThe men look fine; the women not so much. Obviously, it was an informal affair but there is "informal," and then there is frumpy. The ladies look frumpy. On a positive note, Stephanie's earrings are very pretty.
ReplyDeleteOh dear--Stephanie's blouse is ill-fitting and she's wearing those baggy black trousers again. She can do so much better. Maria Theresa--no, just no. Henri and Guillaume look like they are attending a different event from their wives--they are so well attired in their suits.
ReplyDeleteOh, not again! In this case, both of them look ill-dressed. Stephanie really needs to up her game. This outfit is too carelessly put together: the blouse if ill fiitting and wrinkled and the pants are just awful. This is also a very bad look for MarÃa Teresa. Unusual for her, since she normally wears very nice pieces. Not a good fashion day for either of them. The men looked dapper.

Is this appearance official or semi-official or just casual as in "Let's go out for a walk and then pop in at the exhibition"? It's a sloppy look for Stéphanie & Maria Teresa. ~Laurel~
ReplyDeleteReally love Stephanie’s top, the colour is very good for her; trousers and shoes, just okay, but I think the top deserves a better combination.
ReplyDeleteM-Th. : not very attractive.
Josh
I like her top as well, it fits her quite well, but the trousers are too baggy for both ladies.
DeleteI like the print of PS top, but that's about it as again the fit isn't good. Can't recall ever have seen GDMT so frumpy dressed and those white shoes ....
ReplyDeleteMCS
Sweet Stephanie looks lovely here. Check the print it's fun. She made a better appearance than yesterday but can't look at her trousers without yawning. How can she wear this type of garment for almost a 100(0) times?
ReplyDeleteShe could also make it more interesting with a soft-blue (woolen) jacket. (seen many on internet mention no names..) without an awful lot of money.
Maria-teresa no comment -Anna-
Yes, the print is cute and the colour combo light blue/white is pretty. But the blouse doesn't fit at all and thus ruins the overall impression.
DeleteWhere there different dresscodes for ladies and gentlemen?
Stephanie may just be pregnant again, don't you think? As for the black pants wore hundred times, it's a shame. As for Maria-Teresa, no comment.
ReplyDeleteArrggh…ladies — especially the adorably lovely but sartorially challenged Hereditary Grand Duchess — first of all, if after all this time you cannot wear trousers successfully, GET RID of the trousers — and please also
ReplyDeleteditch every wrinkly blouse and drab cardigan, which can be put aside as reserved for private family occasions. Next, go wonderfully, daringly rogue and switch to a closetful of well-tailored Chanel suits. Do not worry that some critics will complain about a sameness to your wardrobe; it is infinitely better to be predictably elegant than predictably frumpy. (Evening wear is a great subject for a different day, of course. I will offer this, though: Elie Saab.). Next, step away from the scrunchies, elastic bands etc. Hair scraped back into a ponytail is not an option for an elegant royal lady on official business. (That goes for Letizia and Victoria, too). Must-haves, every day: a superb tailor, and a superb hairdresser. As a public person with big responsibilities, you get to have big splurges on things like attractive, perfectly-fitted clothes and beautifully coiffed hair. (And Stephanie’s gorgeous red-gold locks have such potential!!)
In addition to being a wise strategy for GD Maria Teresa as well, the trousers-free closet of chic classic suits would completely eliminate the ghastly possibility of white trainers worn with black pants. (We short ladies need to remember that such stark visual contrast between pants and footwear unfortunately makes short legs look much shorter.) Hair-wise, I think the Grand Duchess’s sleek, easy-care style is a successful alternative to being tethered to a daily session with a hairdresser (although I think a softly-waved bob would look beautiful on M T).
Now, I suppose I’ll have the pantsuit fanatics all indignant, and the ponytail loyalists too, and who knows who else…well, bring it on. It’s been fun saying things that it used to be okay to say on a Royal fashion blog :-)
I love your post, especially the "satorially challenged" and the "ponytail loyalists" - so true, and so well put. Made me laugh a lot, always a boon in times like this.
DeleteWell this is a fashion blog and a high level of expectations from many bloggers. I think we have to leave some room for those royal ladies who want to stick to their own style for less formal occasions like this one. Tell a young lady that she cannot wear pants if she wants to, is not an option for me, even if they don't fit well.
DeleteFinally I don't want to see Guillaume with a beard. It would make him look older. I would prefer to see him losing some weight.
So happy finally to see this two couple together.
ReplyDeleteStephanie looks much better than MT -
The men steal the performance :) and the prince has done some change for the good, but not knowing what.
lovely WE for all
S.O.S.
ReplyDeleteWell, looks like the Luxembourg royal ladies need Chanel and Dior to drop by for a cup of tea.
About the outfits of both ladies : not good enough to go to the groceries.
ReplyDeleteThe men : at least they took time to put on a regular suit.
Carla
Stephanie is dressed badly - her dress doesn't suit her. Maria Theresa - tthe same. It's not chic. Stephanie still goes to art exhibitions - at least according to the photos. The ratio of her participation on art exhibition to charity events is about 20: 1
ReplyDeleteStephanie (yes, I have the same name)
Stefanie seems a very friendly and happy lady and mother. But fashion wise she is not the most "spectacular" for this blog, as seen on this pictures again. The Grand Duchess looks simple and nice and appropiate for this visit as always.
ReplyDeleteWhy does this Princess dress like she is going to the super market all the time. She is in the Royal family for goodness sake.
ReplyDeleteAt least she hasn't got that horrible handbag this time.
Is she not well? I do not mean to be unkind but she just doesn't seem to care anymore what she looks like.
I hope she is okay, she just needs to up her game a bit no a lot.
She looks amazing when she makes an effort with that wonderful smile of hers.
Oh my, the GD should stay away from light make up, she becomes more of a clown face every time I see her. A short bob a la Carolina Herrera in her natural hair colour as suggested above would be more appropriate.
ReplyDeleteI like the long vest of the GD and the pattern of CP Stephanie's attire. I also like the open friendliness in the family, they seem genuinely happy and unaffected when they are together.
