On November 17, 2021, Queen Maxima of The Netherlands made a working visit to the new Amphia Hospital in Breda. The Queen was originally supposed to open the hospital, but given the current corona situation, the form of the visit has been adjusted. Amphia hospital supplies patient care in and around Breda. With nearly 1000 available beds Amphia hospital is one of the biggest general hospitals in The Netherlands. Queen Maxima wore a paisley print midi dress from Altuzarra.

Her hair looks like a rat's nest.
ReplyDelete...Marie
That's harsh. Her hair looks dry and in need of a good trim, but rats nest? No.
DeleteMarie, I tend to agree; The front look, ok for her, but the side few and back looked horrid. cami
DeleteReally exaggeration !
DeleteA right horrible mess is the sides and back. Sort out a pocket brush in your handbag. Jame
Deletetout le monde reporte le MASQUE !!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI had not noticed that! Every person. I think the Queen looks very nice in that dress.
DeleteWhat bothers you in this?
DeleteNothing bothersome, it was an observation about the photos. People are hypersensitive about every comment.
DeleteI like the dress.
ReplyDeletePerfect outfit! Perfect accessories! Perfect hair! What an amazingly beautiful Queen.
ReplyDeleteI agree!
DeleteIs it summer in the Netherlands?
ReplyDeleteMaybe just a warm November day, or she is only outside for a few steps.
DeleteMy beef is the combination of chiffon dress and heavy boots, to my sense it just does not go together.
Just saying.....
ReplyDeleteMaxima has changed how sloppy a hairstyle a queen anno 2021 can afford to have when representing
the royal house and the country. ,, You just have to be
dressed in nice
fashion clothes !
Maybe this is one of her best daytime
hairstyle days 🤔.

If you happen to be interested in haircut, you may recognize the uneven layered haircut, whatever the jargon name is. Maybe excessively so. Her hair seem to be abundant and strong at the roots, despite dying. I also think we could stop commenting about it.
ReplyDeleteAnybody who is not interested in the hair matter, can simply move on.
DeleteBTW and as far as I am concerned, I love Maxima irrispective of her hair.
I think we could stop imposing what others have or do not have to say.
Thank you.

Mary T, your opinion to stop talking about a Queen's bad hair is not relevant. Hair is part and parcel to style of a major Royal. QM gets the hair wrong 90% of the time. My opinion, you have yours, have a great day. Jame
DeleteThe point of commenting about a royal's hair would be to assess the style with the chosen outfit. Making the same comments day in and day out about the condition of Maxima's hair serves no purpose. At this point it is a given. Her hair is not healthy. We all can see it. Constantly pointing it out, in some cases being very rude about it, is about as intelligent as stating that her hair is blond. I see it as another way of having an "in" to make a comment when there may mot have been anything of value to add to the conversation. There are too many that enjoy finding flaws instead of keeping quiet. ~d
ReplyDeleteI respect what you say, but you and others probably didn't read carefully or get what @Lisa was saying at the end of her comment.
DeleteI replied to that.
There is nothing rude in it.
P.
I read everything very carefully. The rude comment referred to Marie calling it a rat's nest. I think she is absolutely recognized for her enthusiasm and charm. It has nothing to do with her hair. Her hair also has nothing to do with the quality of her work. It is a distraction from her overall look, but she is loved for the person she is. For quite some time, I have taken the position that commenting on Maxima's hair is pointless. Because her hair was healthy at one time, I have pointed out that it could be due to a medical problem that we are not privy to. Stating the obvious is dull and unimaginative. If there is nothing else to contribute to the conversation, why bother making a comment? She certainly gives us to talk about with her clothing choices. I prefer to reserve comment for her good hair days. That is when we have something worth mentioning. ~d

DeleteI think we are talking about different things.
If we are referring to the harsh comment mentioning " the rat's nest", then I could only agree with you and I didn' t ever bother to reply, actually.
Of course, I am only talking about my reply to @ Lisa 's comment.
She was wondering why nobody tells Maxima that her hair are not ok.
There is nothing rude or not bright in that.
Then I said that I do not think her hair are so appreciated in the media, which means that Maxima is likely to be aware of what is wrong with her hair already.
There could be a lot of reasons for her hair looking unhealthy, dying treatments being just one of the possibile causes.
Maxima is a high profile working royal and the way she looks in public matters as much as it happens to any other front royal facing public scrutiny.
Her beautiful persona and highly remarkle work both at home and abroad are not questionable and I think we all recognize and applaud her for the way she honors her role.

I like the dress, but I think the belt is too wide. A narrower belt would have been my preference. I do like the boots, even though it's a flowy dress, it's darker colors work with the boots. And someone send a decent hairstylist STAT.
