On November 22, Queen Maxima attended a working meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Africa, Grace Naledi Mandisa Pandor, about financial and digital inclusion. The meeting was held at Huis ten Bosch Palace in The Hague. Discussion focused on collaborating to support and strengthen South Africa’s commitment to promoting women’s digital and financial inclusion on the African continent. The Queen took part in the meeting in her capacity as the UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development. The Queen's new outfit is from the fashion house Natan.
No, just no! The pants are dreadful, the top might be ok with a different colour shirt/ trousers and the earrings just tip it over the edge. KM
ReplyDeleteI agree. The top could have been nice with some black trousers, but this total mustard look is just awful as are the earrings and her hair.
DeleteRenee
Totally ill-fitting trousers although the yellow color is nice ; as bad as the recent yellow ones of Qn Mathilde. I don't like the earrings.
ReplyDeleteI find nothing positive to say about the outfit of the Foreign Affairs Minister neither, since this is a fashion blog. But I make no judgement on her personality nor the quality of her work.

Delete@JC It hardly sounds like a meeting to "beg for more money for her government to steal" as you put it.
DeleteThe article clearly states: "Discussion focused on collaborating to support and strengthen South Africa’s commitment to promoting women’s digital and financial inclusion on the African continent. The Queen took part in the meeting in her capacity as the UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development."

Je peux dire d’accord pour le haut mais pas avec ce pantalon dont le tissu n'avantage pas Maxima ; avec le temps, il me semble que Natan devrait bien connaître sa morphologie !
ReplyDeleteHead to toe orange outfit is not a good choice. The shirt should have been worn outside, because her little tummy and undergarment line are showing. The large orange earrings have to go.
ReplyDeleteMJT
I quite like the consistency of the colour and the drape of the outfit on Queen Maxima. The fit of the pants around her waist though is not at all flattering and is really noticeable in the fourth picture especially. She can and has done much better. Also, the earrings are too much.

Again, oh my god. I rest my case.
ReplyDeleteI know - it's painful!
Delete...Marie
agree with you both ... was married
DeleteFrom the top of her head to the bottom of her shoes, it's a complete mess.
ReplyDeleteOn a positive note, she coordinates with the miniature orange trees. That is all I have. ~d
ReplyDeleteSolche Ohrringe haben doch ein relativ hohes Gewicht. Mir schmerzen die Ohren schon beim Betrachten der Fotos. 😣
ReplyDeleteEinverstanden mit Ihnen
DeleteThis could be a good and surprising colourfull combination, but the showing tightness of the trousers spoils everything,
ReplyDeleteJosh
I also agree
DeleteSuch a bad dressing day for QM; this pair of trousers is so ill fitting.
ReplyDeleteMCS
No, just NO!!!!
ReplyDeleteCB
Agreed, just hideous all around. Those earrings are beyond trashy lol.
DeleteChel
I like the blouse, which would have looked great with dark trousers. I quite like the trousers which would have looked fine with a dark blouse, sweater or jacket. Unless you are really thin ---Duchess of Cambridge, Queen Letizia kind of body shape-- a shirt that is "tucked in" is never flattering and looks even worse when the trousers (or skirt) are alight colour.
ReplyDeleteI know - it's painful but she is still my favourite "fun" queen.
ReplyDeleteThe Maxima look is becoming a measuring stick for fashion.
Oh dear…those trousers are rather tight and unfortunately I’ve seen more than I wanted to see!! I’m impressed by the strength of her ears to carry such large earrings, and she seems to be able to wear almost any colour well. Far from her best…but she is joyful and engaged as always

The house of Nathan should be deported to that desert island, where Napoleon was sent, for crimes committed to the clothing of Queen Maxima, Queen Mathilde and now Princess Stephanie before it gets any worse. They should be supplied with food and water but all modes of transport from the island removed.
ReplyDeleteTo be a bit positive I actually like the colour combination on her. For the rest disaster.
It is obvious that these women do not have a single clue themselves how to dress….. easy victims for fashion satan.
DeleteLily T.
I so wish people would be as judgemental with men's beer bellies as they are with the tiny pouch QM has.
ReplyDeleteHear hear!
DeleteHear hear!
DeleteHear hear!
DeleteTotally agree
DeleteWhat is so sad is that I honestly believe she thinks she looks so good!
ReplyDeleteShe is very selfassured and looks always very pleased with herself….
DeleteTiger Lily
Well she would have looked lovely in that outfit if that excuse for a fashion house knew something about interlinings, clever cutting, the hand of fabrics in general and employed an expert tailor. Even if she has gained a few kilo's a good tailor would know just how to cut and shape and design those trousers to fit her nicely and disguise a few flaws. Nothing is worse than a stretchy curve hugging fabric when one wants not to see certain curves and certainly not ones underwear.
DeleteNone of us know what she thinks.
DeleteMathilde
OMG. Maximá can do so much better. The trousers are much too tight so that everyone can see the undergarment line which no-one wants to see. That is a complete desaster fashion. Does nobody in her team told her about this? She should wear clothes in her right size. But at the moment I have the impression that it is en vogue to wear too tight clothes in public when I think of Meghan Markle's red evening gown recently that was two size too small. The mustard allover look would be a great choice but the trousers are destroying the whole outfit. Then it would be better to wear black trousers like princess Stephanie of Luxemburg.
ReplyDeleteI can forgive Maxima for the blouse (would have been wonderful with a pair of brown or grey pants), and maybe the pants would have been nice with a cashmere pullover that would have "hidden" some features a bit. The hair really needs a serious trimming! Everybody are arguing that Victoria should let her hair down, well I say that Maxima should always wear her hair up for these "every day"-events when some serious hairdresser work has not been commissioned beforehand.

Queen Maxima will never be a style icon.
ReplyDeleteAnd nor Q Mathilde and HGD Stephanie.... Too much
ill-fitted NATAN.
Julie
Julie, you are exactly right!
DeleteI also did not like it ... The blouse is beautiful, but the pants should be darker (black or graphite), could be a skirt too ... do not you think ???
ReplyDeleteThe hair could be stuck ... the hair are strangely.
But what really destroyed were the earrings ... Where she got these earrings,
my God! Are awful!
RAS
Lovely colour -- there can never be too much yellow or orange in this world :) -- and she looks just fine and healthy for her age. Speaking of "disguising flaws" or "hiding some bits" when talking about someone's totally healthy-looking body amounts to bodyshaming in my opinion. There are two smiling ladies here, that's the most important thing.
ReplyDeletePaula
I think it is just trouser-shaming here,
DeleteJosh
We are discussing fashion here not bodies. A well cut and made garment should hang properly follow your curves neatly and be comfortable not squeeze you into a stuffed sausage shape showing your undies.
DeleteI don't see body shaming. I see posters saying, and rightly so, that the pants are too tight and we can all see the the intimate garment panty line. It's not a good look for anyone let alone a queen on an official engagement.
DeleteI like the shirt &, agree with comments of black trousers would have been a better choice. On the flip side of all this , with what looks like cold weather in Holland it's nice to see bright colours as opposed to dreary dark colours of winter. Coming from the warmer, or rather very hot parts of the Southern hemisphere we are only too happy to wear summary colours. Mary
ReplyDeleteI always remember a piece of advise I was given when choosing clothes. No one knows what size is written on the clothing label, until you squeeze yourself into the wrong size ! And that's what we have here ! Apart from the fact the trousers seem at least two sizes too small, the undergarments outline is visible ! I can't think how even Maxima thought this was a good look. I usually love her vibrant and colourful style. This is definitely a no ! no ! Ana
