Queen Máxima of the Netherlands opened The Pieter Teylers House, a new wing of The Teylers Museum in Haarlem, on Tuesday morning, November 30. The wing is the former residence of Pieter Teyler who had a broad interest in science and art. Teyler left his assets, collections and house to a foundation whose purpose was to improve the lives of everyone. This resulted, among other things, at Teylers Museum, which opened in 1784.

The museum is on the top 100 Dutch heritage sites list compiled by the Department for Conservation in 1990. Teylers Museum is an art, natural history, and science museum. Pieter Teyler (1702–1778) was a wealthy cloth merchant and banker of Scottish descent, who bequeathed his fortune for the advancement of religion, art, and science. He was a Mennonite and follower of the Scottish Enlightenment.

  1. Maxima looks good in red. I think the dress might be a bit too snug but with the matching coat the effect is minimal. No gloves today!

  2. O.K. the dress is Dolce & Gabbana but is the coat from the same fashion house?
Love both the dress and coat. Simple elegance.
Haven't seen our dear Queen Maxima for a couple of weeks so it's good to know that she's fit and well.
Her mother in law has been (rightly) getting the spotlight in Curacao.

  3. J'adore cette couleur rouge chez Maxima mais même si elle a une tête à chapeaux, je pense qu'un modèle en feutre moins imposant comme porté récemment, le 24 novembre, lui irait à merveille !

  4. This appears a lot better than recent appearances. She looks really good in red and the burgundy accessories/shoes work well.

  5. Once again, Maxima looks smashing in red and I think the style of hat is perfect for the look. Well done.

  7. What a top coat. Which brand? Red becomes her in a wonderful combination with dark brown. I love big hats on Máxima and thanks god no gloves.

  8. A Nathan coat with D&G dress! Who would have thought to do this but Maxima!

  9. Love the coat and dress, though agree with Debra that the dress might be on the tight side. I usually like Queen Maxima's hats but on this occasion, I thought the coat, hat and mask gave a distinctly 'bandit' look. Always cheering to see her.

Dress and coat are designed by Natan. It’s not the red Dress by Dolce & Gabanna

Love the red dress and coat ;it looks cheery .The earrings look good; not sure about the high heels on the wet pavers. Queen Maxima knows how to wear a variety of styles.(Tara)
