From there, the royal couple went to SESVanderHave Innovation Center (SVIC), which is the research center of this global player working in the sugar beet seed sector. In the Center, the sugar beet varieties of the future are being developed. Since 2005, SESVanderHave has been part of the Florimond Desprez group, a French family-owned business specializing in seeds.

Next, the King and Queen visited the Averbode Abbey on the occasion of the 900th anniversary of the Norbertine Order. There, the King and Queen met with the abbey community. The monks at the Averbode Abbey belong to the order founded by Saint Norbert. That is why they are called Norbertines. However, they are also known by several other names. The name Premonstratensians refers to Prémontré, the French town where the order was founded in 1121.

  1. I love this dress but wish the lining was cap sleeves intead of halter. It suits the Queen well and the shoes are very nice also

    1. I totally agree and with this lining the dress seems more suitable for a reception or
      something like that

  2. i always wonder, does she tell the designers to make a custom mask from the same material as her clothing, so unnecessary!

    1. You have made your feelings about masks very clear. We all know you are anti-mask. No need to make mention of it every time. You are straying into a hot button topic and away from fashion.

    2. In this case the mouth mask in exactly the same fabric spoils the total look for me. I do understand the necessity of the mask, but because of the halter design it's as if the dress ends under QM nose.

The coat seems a bit tight, but goes well with the dress.

    3. masks are essential. however, based on Fashion its unnecessary to get a custom made mask to match the exact dress, why not get an ordinary mask everyone else

  5. Love the dress both the fabric and the colour, though I think I would prefer a v-neck or a round neck. Like the coat as well Lovely winter greens. Unlike w, I think the matching masks worn by a number of the royals are a great idea. As long as we have to wear the ghastly things we might as well have ones that look pretty.

  7. Mathilde looks very nice in this color of green. I really like her coat. I like the color and pattern of the dress fabric, just not a fan of the style. I think her matching masks are great! Bravo to her for style and safety!

    1. I also think the matching masks are a plus. Why not if she has money for that ...

  8. Mathilde looks wonderful in this beautiful green dress--and I love her choice of accessories in brown. Green is such a great color for her. Her coat is also very pretty. I have some issues with Natan's design--but that's pretty common for me. I prefer to focus on how lovely Mathilde is because Natan isn't going to change and the Benelux ladies will still wear his designs.

  9. Yes, they do make a handsome couple. I'm a "like it" for the dress and the mask doesn't give me any problems. Not often I like Natan.
A mention about the very dapper, double breasted grey suit worn by King Philippe. With just a few more tucks and pins with the cutting and fitting, it would have been perfect.
Hope Prince Daniel gets some inspiration from the colour.
Would love to visit the abbey.
