On November 29, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden attended the festive gathering 2021 and award ceremony held on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music (KMA). The event took place at The Great Hall of the Academy of Music in Nybrokajen. The world’s largest competition for young choral directors, the Eric Ericsson Award, and the world’s leading prize in classical music, the Birgit Nilsson Prize, were among the foremost.
The Academy was founded on September 8, 1771 and today is the oldest still-active musical academy located in the north of the Alps. The Royal Swedish Academy of Music (KMA-Kungliga Musikaliska Akademien) is one of the Royal Academies in Sweden. Both domestic and foreign musicians are elected to study at the Academy. Crown Princess Victoria presented prizes and medals to the winners. Crown Princess Victoria wore a lace and tulle gown from H&M’s Conscious Exclusive 2014 collection, which she had worn before.

What a terrific gala gown in black lace. Black suits V very well. It's a lovely model as well. The only thing I would love to change is her haircut. It's always so strict/severe which does not match with her friendly face.
ReplyDeleteThis is quite wow. I like so much about it - the contrast of sash, order and jewellery against the dark dress, the skillfully done hair, the drama of the dress and the classic ballgown silhouette. I also like that we can see some skin (bare arms) since long sleeves (although season appropriate) would have been too much black. (Or is it midnight blue? - hard to tell).
ReplyDeleteThe waistline is a tad too high, and I wish the layers/tiers of the skirt were placed more evenly across the skirt part. As is, it looks both random and unnecessarily bulky across the hips whereas something seems missing further down the skirt.
Anyway, I like the idea of the dress: intricate fabric , yet neutral colour; fancy skirt, yet simple bodice. I don´t mind the t-shirt neckline either (although a few centimetres lower wouldn´t have hurt).
Daniel looks very dapper. I think he´s learning to pay more attention to details. I´m glad he straightened his order after getting out of the car.
Great warm-up for them leading into the Nobel prize galas.
Any information on her gown, designer etc.
ReplyDeleteEverybody is dressed just as they should be for such a occasion.
Not a false, 'non musical' note anywhere.
Prince Daniel is so handsome.

DeleteMuch to my own surprise I really love this dress on her. The skirt is like Victorain lace mourning dress design. I even like the ruffles for once. It is such a pity that the ribbon and what I think you call insignia are hiding the top and making it so busy.
ReplyDeleteHair: lovely as ever and not harsh at all, more soft than usual with the side-bun.
ReplyDeleteGown: lovely in the simplicity of the color, as the other attributes were allowed to have their moment in the sun. The lace is magnificent, feminine and I wish we could have seen the gown in another color (on a model) to see exactly where the lace lines were versus the gown).
Overall impression: Beautiful and handsome. jj
Great formal dress. The Crown princess looks fantastic, and although her hairstyle is still severe, the fancy chignon is superb. The little sleeves on the dress make it ideal for the occasion. and as said elsewhere, Prince Daniel looks superb!
ReplyDeleteWith her hair parted on the side, CP Victoria looks just like Estelle!
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous! I'm usually not for lace, but this is just beautiful. I love the black, and the short sleeves are perfect. I absolutely love her hair in this side style, with the jewelry clip in.

How lovely CP Victoria looks! Her gown is pretty and elegant (OK, the waist is touch high butI'm a bit picky I suppose). Her side part and side bun are a nice change--and I love the jewels in her hair. Daniel is looking extra debonaire in his tux and orders. The first photo of them is full of love and joy--a pleasure to see!
ReplyDeleteIf this dress would have been without the ruffles it would have been like any other boring lace dress. Well done, the CP couple looks wonderful.
