On October 12, King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema (Gyaltsuen) attended the formal inauguration of the A5-JKW Drukair Aircraft at Paro International Airport. The Aircraft was named in honour of The King and purchased in March 2020. The King and Queen also toured the airport, where a major facelift has been completed.
Bhutanese artists and members of VAST-Bhutan participated in the work to transform the Paro Airport, and received support from the Bhutan Civil Aviation Authority. Over 70 Bhutanese artists have delivered their works to be displayed in the airport. The transformation also includes various gardens and murals.
As always such beautiful colours and sumptuous material. They really are very special and it is so lovely to have a photo of the queen smiling.
