Every year, in connection with the International Rheumatism Day, the Danish Queen hands out the Queen Ingrid's Researcher's Prize having a monetary amount of DKK 100,000 to a Danish researcher, who has made scientific efforts in preventing and treating rheumatism. On October 19, 2021, Queen Margrethe of Denmark handed out the Queen Ingrid Researcher Prize 2021 and the Queen's special research scholarship.
The award was presented to professor and chief physician Torkell Ellingsen for her extraordinary contribution to research relating to rheumatoid arthritis. The prize was established in 1978 on the occasion of Queen Ingrid's 25th anniversary as the Rheumatism Association's patron. Queen Margrethe has since then taken over her mother's patronage.
A very worthy award for research into a disease that will help millions around the world. HM looks like usual wonderful self.
ReplyDeleteAgreed! What a great cause! And Queen Margrethe looks great, I like the bright jacket against the darker dress.
