Japan's Princess Mako met with her grandparents Emperor Emeritus Akihito and Empress Emerita Michiko on Monday, a day before her marriage to fiance Kei Komuro. Princess Mako, the first grandchild of the former emperor and empress arrived at their temporary residence in Tokyo by car. Princess and Komuro will hold a press conference at a hotel in Tokyo on October 26 after they register their marriage at a local municipal government.
Crown Princess Kiko's father Prof. Tatsuhiko Kawashima was hospitalized. On October 24, Crown Princess Kiko, Princess Mako and Princess Kako visited him at the hospital.
ReplyDeleteIn the photos taken after visiting with her grandparents Mako looks happy--I feel pretty sure she is smiling under mask. In the visit with her mother and sister, Mako doesn't express the same happiness. However, I also understand she is visiting her sick grandfather in front of the press--so happy smiles would probably not be appropriate. Tomorrow is her big day so wishing the lovely princess and her groom a lifetime of happiness!
ReplyDeleteHey, Janet take it easy! A still picture which captures a nano second of mood swing shouldn't be used to judge her. Someone's smile in her audience of admirers could trigger a smile and vice versa

DeleteBeautiful! And there is a sparkle in her eye
ReplyDeleteAll the best to Mako and Kei Komuro! It is unbelievable how much they had to fight for their love! May they be happy!
ReplyDeleteYes those would be my words as well !

ReplyDeleteAgree. .
And yesterday has become today.
Her words to the media after they had registered their marriage.💓
"I am very sorry for the inconvenience caused and I am grateful for those... who have continued to support me," she said, according to an NHK report. "For me, Kei is irreplaceable - marriage was a necessary choice for us. 💞
So beautiful and strong.... may love and happiness be a part of their life for good.

Incredibly heartbreaking. How can any society be that misogynistic? Beyond any understanding. Truly shameful.
