  1. Superbe dans cette robe et veste en tweed ; très joli chignon étoffé qu'elle a dû demander au coiffeur qui s'est occupé d'elle !

  3. I commend Queen Maxima for dressing in a modest but business-like way for this event. Her dress and jacket are lovely, and her pearls are a nice touch. Her hair looks very nice too. Well done!

  4. Good grief, very nice casual messy bun, tidied up hair, a simple pearl necklace and earrings an attractive suit and toning shoes. What are we coming to? She looks lovely.

The "simple" pearl necklace is not that simple..very big white pearls costs a fortune

  5. Her hair is at least up and styled. The suit is professional looking and adequate for the occasion.

  9. While I find this suit too busy for my taste, I do like the type of fabric and frayed edges, finally an attractive and good look to her hairstyle.

    1. That's because she is at a huge international event - she had better look her best. She looks beautiful, especially in that dark outfit. Love her hair. ~Laurel~

  12. Maxima looks fantastic. She can do it when she has to, when she knows it is really important, so I wonder why she makes so many blunders? Either she had professional help or she really does know how to dress herself and chooses to throw caution to the wind and wear whatever amuses her at the moment, whether or not it fits/suits her body or the event. At least she keeps us on our toes! ~d

    2. No, that is exaggeration. She looks her age (i.e. 50).

    3. Indeed, it my aunt, who is an elegant lady in her 70s, wears this style.

    1. i just replied to rhe blogger who defined Queen Maxima as decent, which is simply an acid judgement, since we all know that she can wear dresses and attend glamorous events that many of us can only dream....I hope i have elaborated my comment now...

  16. While I like the Oscar de la Renta suit very much, that blouse underneath is a no with the suit. And while I like the style of the 2nd suit, I'm not a fan of the metallic in it, I wish it was a solid fabric. Her hair styled I those loose waves looks fantastic! Her makeup looks fresh, a nice look.

    1. @Chel: Blouse underneath? I don't see one. Perhaps it's the lanyard around her neck that you're mistaking for a blouse? Other people are wearing a lanyard as well.

    2. She is not wearing a blouse underneath but a dress. The blue ribbon you see is the ribbon of her batch.
In my opinion there are too many buttons on the jumpsuit.
      The rest is OK.

    3. The suit is a dress and jacket (see pic4). What you can see on some picture is a key ring with strap. The jumpsuit is fine, incl the little bit of fantasy in the fabric. She looks great here.

    4. I also thought the lanyard was a blouse and that she had adapted the original outfit. I like it even more as a dress and jacket.

    5. @Chel: I also mistook her attendance ribbon for a blouse at first. Her suit is actually a sort of sundress with thin shoulder straps and jacket.

    6. Thank you for the clarification, I absolutely thought it was a blouse (I was looking at the pics on my phone and they weren't that big, lol). No wonder it didn't match! Ha ha!

  18. Love to see her at these events, using her professional skills. What a fantastic role model for young girls. A Princess who can also represent her country in financial matters at the very highest levels. Really like both outfits, especially the suit. Her smile is one of her greatest assets but she also looks good in the photos where she is more serious.

  20. Gorgeous! The first outfit and her hair remind me of Grace Kelly. Very graceful. The second outfit is perfection: the jumpsuit itself: professional and original, and her hair looks just exquisite. Very well chosen, these outfits.

  21. Queen Maxima looks good. I don't get it, lets fly everywhere, financially countries are suffering; and off we go, nobody shall own anything and we will all fall over laughing, and be happy. Lets wake up; most of us recycle and make do; breathe in breathe out. Actually with the Oscar de la Renta dress ; it is heavy material, who would ever wear that as a sun dress; The colour is a bit boring; looks like a copy of Chanel. The Queen should be wearing something in orange to represent; the Netherlands, and use Dutch designers
