Its good color for Mary; her hair and earrings look pretty. But. The style of this dress give her a bump around her middle despite her being so slender.

  2. Elle est époustouflante dans cette robe d'un bleu lumineux - J'adore son empiècement sous la poitrine ainsi que son boutonnage délicat ; ravie de voir les boucles d'oreilles pendantes portées récemment en compagnie de Frederik !

  3. As lovely as her white day-dress is - but this blue thing is just ugly. Looks like cheap polyester to start with, the shine is awful, the elastics on the sleeves are random, the knee-length lining shows through and looks bad. And most of all, the construction of the dress´s bodice is a total failure. I cannot think of anything more unflattering. The shoes are the wrong blue and look awfully small.

Agree with you, Vanessa; far from a good look this time.

  4. I like the concept of the dress but the fit is very peculiar indeed. If you look at the model the v neck is much lower and sharper almost onto the waistband. It looks like someone added a few extra buttons and loops to the neckline to close it more and the result is pulling up the front more than on the model. The embroidery or lining on the front of the first ladies dress is also not the most flattering in execution. It makes it look like two patches to hide the obvious someone should have viewed the entire effect in various lighting situations before sewing all together.

  5. Not a fan of the fit across CP Mary's midsection--she is very slender and this dress is giving her a pooch. Still, the color is wonderful for her and her hair and accressories are perfect.

Hair & makevup look nice. Like colour of dress & the sleeves, however the over all style is average. Mary I

  7. These are the most unflattering photos I've seen of this occasion. Mary looks like she has a paunch. There are much better photos which make this outfit look vibrant, original and well tailored. Bright cobalt is on trend. Mary is a great ambassador for Denmark.

  8. I have to agree with everyone here, the idea of the dress is good, but the execution is terrible. The adjustments made for her as opposed to seen on the model don't work. Also, she has a slender body and this dress does her no favors. Also, the choice to wear purple shoes with this blue dress is unusual. But her hair and makeup look spectacular.

Love the First Lady's hair styled in an up-do and the contrasting shoes, her dress is also very attractive on her and appropriate to the occasion. Some added sparkle would be nice, either dangling earrings or a brooch.

Mary's dress is attractive and appropriate as well, a nice color. However I would have preferred an up-do to show-case her gorgeous earrings, this is a gala after all. And maybe a delicate chain with small pendant worn around the neck as the V-neck is deep and leaves an expanse of chest exposed. S.M.

Goodness Mary rarely puts a step wrong but this is a massive fail from me. The colour is too bold, the fabric looks cheap and the top makes her bust look droopy. I doubt if we see her in this again. I'm sure she will look at photos after the event and realise it's not flattering at all.

I am happy that royals can show their bra (picture 2) , then I need not worry so much about that issue myself.
