I donot understand why they brought the orange shawls .
They hide the queens dress and the princesses outfits.Let’s be kind and say, this is not a very fashionable family.

    1. ORANGE for the house of Orange is the Dutch national colour and an awful lot of us wave something orange for cheering on a Dutch team of "whatever" it could be anything from horse riding to tennis or swimming, bicycle riding etc. That way we cheer on a Dutch team.

      Queen Maxima' s orange
shawl shows her suppport to Dutch driver Max Verstappen.
The dress is lovely, but a bit overdressed for this sport event, I think.

    3. @Suze Something sleek and sporty. A ruffled dress looks misplaced in these surroundings.

I am Dutch and I do care about our royal family. They work hard and do their best to be a binding factor in day-to-day life. But I am sorry to say that there taste in clothing is in general not the best. Máxima is very good in evening gowns but seldom in day to day clothes. Always too much of everything.
The daughters seldom dressed in clothes suitable for their own age and mostly too formal. Look at the lovely clothes of the Spanish or Belgian young royals, so tasteful and fashionable. Hopefully I do not offend Dutch people with a different opinion. Look at their clothes now visiting formular 1 in the Netherlands. Awful

Not Dutch but I love Maxima, she's got an amazing personality and a dazzling smile that often makes up for her clothing choices ;) I just wish she'd fix her messy hair.
I agree that the Spanish & Belgian young royals wear amazing clothes that are both appropriate for royal occasions but still manage to look young and interesting. The Dutch royals have a difficult time living up to that, though I actually think their clothes for this occasion are fine. Amalia's dark blue jeans, white trainers & red blazer look lovely and appropriate; likewise Ariane's trainers and brown trousers. The only thing I don't like are the balloon sleeves of Ariane's top; Alexia has unfortunately worn similar tops before.
I do like Maxima's dress here, especially without the belt she wore with it the first time! :) In general she does have a lot of fashion misses but wears stunning evening outfits, I agree with you on that.
I think the best dressed Dutch royal is Princess Margriet! :)

Fashion wise not my cup of tea, but everyone is dressed okay. I really love Amalia's blazer; I might have to buy that one myself...

  7. Il n'y a que le blazer déjà porté par Amalia qui a ma préférence ; avec un pantalon, c'est tout à fait son style !

    The Queen standing before Max Verstappen ( who was it all about);
the Queen walking ahead of her family:
this is why I never will be a fan of hers, sorry.

Walking ahead of her family? You object to that???
Good grief, if the King doesn't mind why should you? People like to see her just as much as him. What if the King was delayed talking to someone behind so she naturally moved on? Furthermore, this is a casual event, not a formal royal occasion demanding protocols.
Perhaps you should adjust your perspectives a bit and give this family some common sense leeway - whether you are Dutch or not.

  9. El blazer con el calor que hacia pobrecita Amalia, tenemos hoy dia ropa mas actual, mas moderna para chicas de su edad, la pequeña feo lo que lleva, un punto comun todas muy mal peinadas.

  10. I agree with Unknown @21:49 that Queen Maxima is always at her best in evening clothes. Why is that, it is more likely she always has a clothing stylist, hairdresser and a make up artist. Then you add to that the beautiful Dutch Royal jewels and she is amazing. I think that the problem with her daytime clothes is that she really does not know what is appropriate for many of the events she attends. Some of her daytime fashion choices border on bizarre. Add to that she usually always does her hair herself for daytime events and her hair is a miss. The one thing that usually makes up for her daytime misses is that beautiful smile which is affectious!

  11. On such a nice and warm late summers day you do not run around in corduroy trousers or hide behind a (though a very nice one) blazer. Hard to make out the top Catharina-Amalia is wearing, to me it seems to be a shiny fabric that clashes with the rest of her outfit. Best dressed is indeed the king. Would have preferred the ladies in an even more casual attire, like nice white jeans (how about all three of them and then pair it with different coloured tops?). The queen's dress as such is not bad, but seems not right for the occasion. I think, motor racing events are just calling for trousers!

I had a regrettable sofa the same as the Queen's dress, back in 1969.

    The King looks elegant.
