On September 28, 2021, King Felipe and Queen Letizia presented the "2018 and 2019 National Culture Awards" at the Prado National Museum in Madrid. The awards are organized annually for the purpose of making contribution to the enrichment of the cultural heritage of Spain and promoting cultural activities.
The National Culture Awards are given by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport. The awards are grouped in different thematic fields. Due to the pandemic, the award ceremonies for 2018 and 2019 were held with delay. Queen Letizia wore a new wrap around dress by Adolfo Dominguez.

Another lovely and elegant look from Queen Letizia. I'm glad she went for softer bun, and not tight and severe bun.

Love the steal gray color. I like Letizia's earrings. Don't love the color of her shoes and purse with this dress.

Just be glad she didn't go for wellies like the poor model!! Why would you think it "cool to style ad dress like that with wellies?? It also looks like a dressing gown in the model's photos.
DeleteAlthough there's a lot of material in the dress, Letizia makes it look well fitted and stylish. I'd call the dress pale blue rather than gray but wouldn't argue about it!
"Dressing gowns",?? ( actually there is not a proper translation in other languages). Do you dress in a gown, where?? .. must be something rare on some cultures, in other are what most women wear, as they can be worn by anyone and considered very elegant, mainly in Mediterranean countries...as always some countries think that their culture is universal..

DeleteHola, you are right!!
Do you think we might ask Letizia to have a look at her immense and gorgeous collection of shoes?
I am sure I would faint !

Beautiful dress and color but the cuffed sleeves ruin the polished look for me.
ReplyDeleteThe soft draping on this dress is gorgeous, as is the color. Perfection once again. Love the hair too. King Felipe's tie works beautifully, and he is as handsome as ever.

This is a sophisticated update to her workhorse grey dress which is quite similar. The draping falls softly and gives a shapely effect. The oxblood accessories are an excellent choice. The rolled sleeves ..no! adjustments are necessary.
ReplyDeleteIn the clip she can be seen laughing behind her mask at some minor mishap she made. Such a rare sight.

ReplyDeleteLetizia has the perfect posture. The wrap dress sits beautifully on her. I love the insertion of colour in her accessories. Ana
ReplyDeleteThis is a wowza for me. Elegant, sophisticated, feminine, and nice contrasting shoes/purse.
