On September 5, 2021, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark presented the Carlsberg Foundation's Research Prizes 2021 and attended a gala dinner at the New Carlsberg Glyptotek in Copenhagen. This year's awardees were professor of autobiographical memory Dorthe Berntsen and professor of DNA Eske Willerslev.
The Carlsberg Foundation's Research Prize includes a total of one million kroner. Of this, DKK 250,000 is a personal honor, while DKK 750,000 is to be used for research activities.
