Princess Charlene has been suffering from a sinus infection for several months and underwent a series of small surgeries within that period. The Princess underwent another surgery this Friday. The four hour surgery took place under general anaesthesia in South Africa where Princess Charlene has been since May.

The Prince's Palace made a press statement in which it said that the surgery has gone well and that Prince Albert, along with Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, will join the Princess in a couple of days to accompany her during the recovery period.

Due to complications caused by the sinus infection, the Princess has been unable to travel by air since she arrived in South Africa. Since it is not safe, the Princess is not allowed to return to Monaco by a sea vessel. Due to the internal disturbance in South Africa and due to the pandemic, the Prince and his twins could not be by the Princess' side within that period. At their last meeting in early June, Prince Albert, Jacques and Gabriella got together with Princess Charlene in South Africa.

Best wishes to Charlene for a full and safe recovery, and happiness to be reunited with her family in the near future.

This must be so hard for the family especially for the kids. They must feel like their mother abandoned them. I hope she gets well soon.

@V, why would her children have the notion that she has abandoned them? Many parents have jobs that keep them away from home for weeks, sometimes months. I personally had to do a few temporary assignments during my service, and I can assure you that my children never felt abandoned or neglected, we stayed in contact by phone, mail and as many trips as permitted. Nowadays is even easier with FaceTime and Skype. Life presents us with challenges, and it’s up to the family unit to overcome them with love and quality time.

  4. My thoughts go out to Princess Charlene and what she must be going through. She is away from her beloved children and her husband and dealing with her ongoing health concerns. I wish there was a way that she could be in Monaco with her loved ones, but at this time it does not seem possible. I have always held a soft spot in my heart for her and I do wish her a speedy recovery and hope that she can re-unite with her family soon!

    1. Nice to read such a charitable comment.
Do have a nice day @precipitevolissimevolmente.
And do take care not to get caught up in one of these "tougher situations" that you talk about.

    2. @deadeggs: next time you want to make some kind of irony, address yourself to someone you know better, since i dont know who you are and you dont know me.
Its not only your eggs to be dead but also your politeness.

Yes, precip... - all we see is what the media puts out (like with the worldwide you-know-what). Nobody knows what's actually going on with Charlene (Meniere's?) . We'll see what eventually happens. All the best to Charlene. ~Laurel~

      Precip...

      Really?
What about your lack of compassion for Charlene?
Mind your politeness and your irony out of place.

  7. People, its time you wake up! Charlene is a princess who has money and means to access the best therapies and doctors!
Haiti, Afghanistan... Do these names tell you anything???
My COMPASSION and empathy are for the last of this earth, not for those who have already everything.
Keep on staying in your golden bubble, and comment fashion, its better.

Of, course, Haiti and Afghanistan are great concerns for everybody , not only for you.
Then, why do you comment on this site and so aggressively on some Royal ladies including Charlene and share the "golden bubble"?
It is quite about time you comment on far serious matters.

Can we get some identification of the people in the second and third photos? I recognize Charlene and Albert, etc. but who, exactly, are the other people? Please do not post photos without proper captions. Thank you.
