On August 14, Saturday, Prince Julian of Sweden was baptised by Bishop Johan Fredrik Dalman at Stockholm Drottningholm Palace Chapel. Today, on August 18, official baptism photos of Prince Julian were published at the royal website. The photos were taken by photographer Elisabeth Toll at Drottningholm Palace. Prince Julian Herbert Folke, the third son of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia of Sweden, was born on March 26, 2021. Prince Julian has been granted the Duchy of Halland.
Très belles photos officielles ; tous les petits sont vraiment trop mignons, en particulier bébé Julian dont l'attention a su être bien captée par la photographe ; on ne peut que craquer devant ses beaux yeux bleus !

Sofias best friend is a hairdresser, couldn’t he have done something with the middle sons hair….
ReplyDeleteI am not a fan of Sofia’s outgrowing bangs either.
Prince Carl Philip is as handsome as ever, dashing in his uniform!

DeleteImagine wanting to fit a 4 yrs old into one's own aesthetic! Ridiculous.

One can only agree with the positive comments. Sofia, Carl Philip and their children are lovely!
ReplyDeleteThese photos are just lovely. They are all a beautiful family.
ReplyDeleteI also watched the full replay of the baptism ceremony online, as I was curious what it all involved. It too was a lovely ceremony, very meaningful and personal, and I enjoyed it very much.
Prince Gabriel was very active, running back and forth between his parents, his maternal grandparents and some of the other guests, just like a normal, happy 3yo would do.
There were only a few guests but lots of delightful music during the ceremony, delivered by a small 3 piece chamber orchestra in a small upper alcove, as well as 2 or 3 other modern musicians accompanied by three excellent female singers on the lower level. The music was a mixed selection of classical, folk, and modern pieces, sung in Swedish and English.
There was one piece that I fell in love with, called "Lilla Vackra du" written by Neglin with text by Runevret. I tried to look it up based on these details but sadly I could not find a recording of it. Does anyone know this song?

Thank you, Anon 9:13, for the wonderful description of the ceremony. Sounds as if the whole day was very special. There is something else about this special day, regarding the photographs, which readers also may enjoy hearing about. People often find the photos of royal families at special occasions such as this one to be so beautiful. This is because of an often overlooked but intentional process going on behind the scenes. Senior staff members are actually assigned to work with royal family members, designers, ladies maids, and photographers to develop a “color palate” for the event. The person at the ‘center’ of the event, in this case, Princess Sofia, would be solicited first for her color/style preferences, as she sets the tone. Everyone else is called upon to give thoughtful consideration to how to best coordinate with her choices. Many discussions go back and forth, sometimes for months, and as you can see, the result is impressive: Everyone’s clothing, from the ladies’ garments to the gentlemen’s vests, to the little princes' jackets and shorts, all coordinate or harmonize in some way, providing absolutely stunning images. This also adds a timeless quality to the photographs, which is important, as they provide archival documentation of royal events. The inspiration here is that anyone’s important family events may be improved upon with a bit of thoughtful consideration as to colors and styles.
DeleteWhat great photos and what a handsome family. Prince Alexander is as good looking as his mother, Prince Gabriel is so cute and Prince Julian is such a lovely smiley baby. Blessings on the whole family.

ReplyDeleteGreat pictures of a very loving family. A new born always bring so much happiness.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Muriel J Protocol Officer retired for your insightful comments about everyone centering their fashion around what the main person, in this case Princess Sofia is wearing. From now on, when I look at a Royal Christening I shall remember what you said and it will add to my enjoyment of the pictures of the event. Patty 18

ReplyDeleteSofia looks lovely. Her hairstyle is very pretty. It suits nicely with her dress. As usual, Carl-Philip look handsome. And those three little men are just so adorable.
ReplyDeleteThere’s something about Sophia’s style that makes me feel like she doesn’t have much class. Not in the elitist sense of the word, but rather in terms of refinement and depth. This outfit fits in that category for me. It’s not classy at all (even if it is a designer one. She still doesn’t look elegant - look at Madeleine for comparison.
ReplyDeleteCH
I disagree! I find princess Sofia very beautiful and elegant. Such a handsome and lovely couple she and the prince are! The tree children are just adorable! IMO as a tota,l they are the most beautiful royal family today.
DeleteSofia not Sophia. She's from Sweden not USA.
DeleteIMO she looks fabulous at the baptism of her younger boy. Nothing special about Princess Madeleine.

Snyggast i hela kungafamiljen är prins Carl Philip!
