On Tuesday August 24, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden visited Västernorrland County to speak with various public bodies, companies, organizations and individuals who have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. In the morning, the Royal Couple visited Koltrasten's special accommodation in Härnösand.
Afterwards, the King and Queen visited Castor Restaurant and Härnösands Gymnasium for conversations with students and teachers about their situation during the pandemic. In the afternoon, the Royal Couple met with representatives of the Swedish Enterprise Västernorrland.
The Queen looks fabulous in this classic royal blue suit, nice to see some ladies still wear them and I wish the suits would make a fashion comeback.
ReplyDeleteIs this an inverted way to say QS is wearing an out of style outfit?

Totally agree, Marlee. I still have some of my skirt suits, which I wear to work occasionally, but they seem overly formal. I still love them though. This is a beautiful colour of outfit as well as its classic style. I also like the green outfit in the second photo but a jacket and shoes would elevate it to Queen Silvia's level.
DeleteI am a fan of the Swedish royals, I really like them all.
ReplyDeleteHowever, what I really miss in the relationship between the King and the Queen is tender, loving care showing, for example, in little, affectionate gestures or an intimate smile.
Maybe they just don't show their feelings in public but in private.
Or is there still this unspeakable shadow? Sometimes I would like to look behind the scenes.
What do the others think?
Hello, from what i know they have had problems during their marriage, due to the several relationships of the king with other women... Maybe its gossip, maybe not... But i totally agree with your impression, in the pictures shown in this site, one perceives a certain coldness...
DeleteThey're too professional to show any kind of emotion in public. They're completely focused on the people they are meeting. It's never about them. A good thing imo. I think most Swedes would find it silly if they were being cuddly in public. They are no celebreties, smiling and kissing on the red carpet. When we see them, they're working.
DeleteHaving said that, there are a few pics of them, when they're not aware of the camera, that are pretty sweet. The King arranging pillows for Sils at the Nobels and them holding hands when on their way to the Swedish Academy.
I agree with Haga's remarks. There's a time & place for smooching. The king picked up the queen's hat the other day when the wind blew it off. I think their public personas are just fine; they're more "old school" than the younger royals. ~Laurel~
DeleteAgreed @Laurel.
DeleteTheir private married life may have had some good times and some bad times. Normal .......... even for the Royals.
But fashion wise, I like the way they seem to compliment each other with their attire. They are both smart and well polished when they go out in public. They make a dandy couple.
p.s. like the lighter colour of Q. Silvia's hair.
