  1. CP Mary is a busy Lady these days! I'm no fan of horizontal stripe, find them dizzying
and they can even make even a slim woman look bigger. Not a problem for Mary dough.
But the Jeans! They look baggy and old at the knees, and the frayed cutoff- unbelievable, even for a sporting event. At least the shoes are sensible, but not nice, there are better options.

    1. I fully agree. The jeans look atrocious. Jacket and shoes are ok, but not great. I initially thought those shoes are slippers as the black part at the tip looked like a cutout/peeptoe at first glance. I´m glad they´re not, although I never understood the concept of a contrasting tip on any shoe, nor do I understand why Mary chose to combine the beige shoes with the white stripey jacket. The whole look is a mess, and the pushed-up sleeves add to the overall messy look. I´m all for a good casual look, but this is messy. And - she is not there in private but in her capacity as the princess and patron of the event, so I think a more polished look was in order.

  2. Il n'y a que le superbe blazer croisé à rayures chic-décontracté qui serait tout à fait à mon goût !

Not a fan of the stripy jacket. With the combination of the pants the outfit looks like clowns clothing. Do appreciate the jacket is a high street brand. Overall I think this combination is a miss.on saying this, however, hair etc looks nice. Mary I

I am fairly certain this is not going to get high marks for Mary, but it does from me. Mary is on trend-casual, and this will always make a royal more relatable in my eyes. The raw edge on her jeans is fun and relaxed, while balanced with the structure of the informal blazer. I adore her shoes to complete the look. The one thing I would change is to keep the volume to either the bottom or the top. The blazer should have been single breasted or the jeans should have been a slimmer fit. I love the way the jeans look in the picture of her on the bleachers, #5, so I would prefer the cut of the jeans be slimmer. I find her very age appropriate and there is no reason why a woman in her position can't dress this casually. She never fails to dress for the occasion, and this is no exception. Her title doesn't change the fact that, as a woman, she should be able to enjoy current fashion trends that she likes as long as they are not vulgar. ~d

    2. To me this is a dress down sporty event/environment..
I think her outfit is not out of tone with the situation.
      I agree with @~d 's comment.

    1. Yes, not one aspect of this outfit is right. That jacket does her no favors and is dizzying, the pants are all wrong in every proportion, and the shoes are just a hard no for this outfit.

Lovely lady with a charming and beautiful smile. Agree the outfit suits the occasion to perfection, the jacket is on point. CJ

she looks so small in these pictures, and she is 172 cm. The combo of the pants and shoes is awful IMO.

I really like this combination, the blazer is relaxed but not too boxy, the jeans are perfect for an sporting event, the frayed hem area trend that’s have been around for awhile, not for everybody’s liking, but I find the cute and playful. The shoes totally make the outfit, I love them.

      Nothing sophisticated about this look.

    2. I'd forgotten this (fashion) expression.
About 20 years ago, it was quite the thing to be dressed "sophisticated grunge". Wasn't big with the Royals but quite popular with the bling-bling crowd.
A bit like the expression for house decor known as "shabby chic"

Agree with everyone who says the jacket is not flattering, it looks too large on her frame and as everyone knows, horizontal stripes add visual bulk to the figure. The shoes look like slides to be used in a public shower, clumsy to walk in, especially on stairs. But the jeans - can these really be a fashion? They also are oversized for her frame, and the uneven and frayed hems are just hideous. I can only imagine that Mary spilled coffee on her slacks in the car on the way to the event, and ended up borrowing whatever was at hand as an emergency solution.

Mary has such an exemplary fashion record, I guess we all make a fashion mistake from time to time. S.M.

I love that jacket on Mary, with sleeves pushed up; but it doesn't go well at all with those short, wide, worn-out-looking, tattery blue jeans. Mary should wear those jeans when she works in the palace garden. Such a clean & neat jacket deserves the kind of dark slim pants Mary has usually worn. ~Laurel~

  13. El blaser demasiado grande, desproporcinonado con ese jean corto destructurado con "flecos" lo corto con tijera, las chanclas perfectas para salir de la piscina sin patinarse, nada la sienta bien porque el conjunto es desastroso!

  15. I love Mary's jacket, she is slim enough to carry the stripes this way, the jeans I am not quite sure about.
The centre part on her hair these days does not flatter her, as much as the side part does.
She is looking tired, something is not sparkling in her eyes to me, I hope she is well.
