On August 21, 2021, Crown Princess Mary attended the closing ceremony of Copenhagen 2021 held at Fælledparken in Copenhagen. Copenhagen 2021 is the collective name for the LGBTI+ events WorldPride and EuroGames. Crown Princess Mary is Patron of Copenhagen 2021. The Crown Princess wore a new floral-print cotton midi skirt by Zimmermann.

Now that's a lovely outfit on Mary! ~Laurel~
ReplyDeleteVery well put together! This will more then make up for CP Mary's little fashion mis-steps this week. The skirt is very nice in pattern and colours, topped with a classic casual white blouse. I also like the wedge shoes completing the outfit. The lady in the paisley dress looks pretty good, but not her shoes.
ReplyDeleteHope no one is trying to compete with the flamboyant guy standing next to the CP.
If there were a competition with the "flamboyant guy" I'd enter Queen Maxima as the NewMyRoyals' competitor.
DeleteAnd I'd put all my money on her :-))
The lady in the paisley outfit is the Prime Minister of Danmark..😉😉
DeleteAgree with your comment, Marlee. The guy wearing tartan: finally a guy wearing something else than a blue suit. I actually liked his outfits, although I'm not sure about the black vest here.
DeleteThe crown princess looks lovely!
The lady in the Paisley dress is the Prime Minister of Danmark😉
DeleteRien de tel que ce chemisier blanc en popeline ? afin de contraster joliment avec le magnifique imprimé de sa jupe ; c'est parfait avec ses chaussures compensées Nude - Cheveux lâchés et grosses créoles, quel beau duo !
ReplyDeleteA good choice of shoe …… the LGBT+ event takes place in ''Faelledparken'' = a huge grass field 😉 .
DeleteAnd a good choice of dress
as well from CP Mary and the Prime Minister.

Just beautiful. I admire her for how she is so relatable to everyone around her! Lastly I am happy that the guy with Mary who is wearing the tartan vest feels comfortable enough to dress as he feels. Everyone should have that right, this is what the event is all about!
ReplyDeleteThe man looks ridiculous.

Looks a little frumpy to me. I don’t particularly love either of the two items. In particular the skirt seems to engulf her (and she is a pretty tall person). Pattern doesn’t speak to me and the cut isn’t great either. She already has plenty of better skirts in her wardrobe, I cannot imagine why she needed another (I guess sustainability isn’t on the agenda for Copenhagen week).
ReplyDeleteCH
Wow! I guess some people always have to bring the worst on every situation.
DeleteWhat a snarky comment. The fashion opinion is just your preference and that is what is about, but the ad hock comment about how much clothing she owns and the sour remark about sustainability is just unnecessary.
CB
Agree with CH, I guess it's supposed to be boho chic, but the colors and pattern of the skirt are too bland. Also don't understand why Mary has started a trend of voluminous top and bottom. In my opinion for good styling it is preferable to have voluminous bottom with close-fitting top or vice versa. Also the large straw tote is a bit of a joke, obviously meant to complement the outfit, but probably empty and unnecessary - just a fashion accessory and in this case it's one that doesn't add anything to the overall look. Is Mary's stylist on vacation? S.M.
DeleteI completely agree with CH, who says it like it is. Mary has similar outfits she could have worn, so no need to buy new stuff. Also thought this when I saw the pink shade of the new shoes the other day. She must have hundreds of similar pairs but in different shades. This is what Mary is known for : her clothes. In recent year she has become a sort of patron of sustainability and she will give a speech on this occasion in Rome soon). I am certain that on this day, she will not come in new clothes in order to show what a good job she is doing in terms of re-using her stuff.
Delete@CB: Why "bring the worse"? CH has pointed out a very important matter, sustainability, something that fashion will have to start dealing with... And also each of us, royals included.
DeleteThat being sad, the skirt of Mary is much more flattering than those immense trousers of the recent posts...
There are some sad comments here. Mary hasn't started any "trend of voluminous top and bottom". Anything less than skin tight does not mean it has "volume". This blouse is fine with the skirt. The sleeves and bodice are a normal cut. It is obvious that the bag she is carrying is full, so the comment that it is "probably empty and unnecessary" is ridiculous. If she was carrying a flat clutch, then yes, I would agree. Comments about Mary having new clothes don't work for me. She is a public figure and needs clothes. Maybe some of you don't care how long you keep clothes, but you aren't on an international stage, and your appearance isn't being judged on sites like this. She needs to stay up-to-date, especially due to her to her position. Two examples that come to mind that fail on the fashion front are Victoria and Stephanie, both lovely women on all accounts. Victoria is the future queen and looks matronly most of the time. She does favor affordable and sustainable clothes. That being said, she has too few clothes, and while she does rewear her clothes, she repeats them too often. Stephanie is the future grand duchess and looks like a mom driving carpool. She does not dress for her position at all. Mary does dress for her position, and she does it well. She also adapts for each occasion, and is not married to one "look". Her wide legged pants that got so much criticism here are fabulous, whether the people here realize it or not. To call them "immense" and "unflattering" is being out of touch with fashion. We have seen the royals that don't purge their closets and wear clothes that don't fit or are out-of-date...Maxima, Anne...Lastly, I think it is safe to assume that Mary, as all royals, do work that we don't know about, she entertains, etc. I believe she is required to be dressed every day, it would be quite awkward if she wasn't. It is possible a few changes of clothes are required daily, meaning her clothes are being worn. Since Mary does rewear her clothes, I think she deserves a pass on buying a new skirt -- one I am not a fan of (but doesn't "ENGULF" her🙄). So much drama stirred up because of a meh skirt! ~d
DeleteI also agree with CH, this skirt doesn't do it for me. I'm not a fan of the print. Maybe with a different pattern or solid color the shape of the skirt would work, but it just doesn't here. Looks like an old fashioned prairie skirt, and not in a fashionable way. And the shoes from the 70's/80's can be tossed too.
DeleteChel
I support the opinion of CH: Mary could have put the same look without nearly 700 Euro on the expense of the Danish tax payers. That she needs to change clothes is quite. Exactly for this reason, this new skirt does not add much to her closet: it looks the same as the ten or so she already owns.
DeleteThis is casually elegant, and fit for the occasion. Mary I
ReplyDeleteAlthough I am not a fan of patchwork skirts and I HATE open toed wedge shoes I still think Mary looks lovely in both. It suits her and she looks totally comfortable in what she is wearing and that is what it is all about. So comfortable in ones choice of clothes that you can forget about them. My only quibble "that string"around her waist it does not go with the skirt the stripes somehow are jarring. It might have to be there attached to the elastic in the waist at the back to hold the skirt up but then a single colour of the skirt would have looked better.
ReplyDeleteAs to the comment about her satchel I am sure she is using it to hold all her papers bits and pieces required for the day so empty it is not. A very useful holdall ZI should think.
Ah, anything from Zimmermann is always an eye candy !
ReplyDeleteNia
I think it is a great way to dress comfortable chique, which adresses the occasion and the grass very well.

Disagree with CH, and her multiple personalities, fashion is in the eye of the beholder and I personally agree with all different views. Now, getting on the pulpit in order to shame this particular woman ( and perhaps other) is just not germane to the subject and rather distasteful.
ReplyDeleteCB
Yes, CB, this went sideways very quickly. ~d
Delete@CB: until on this site people will keep on posting anonimously, under the signature of one or two letters, anyone will be a "multiple personality", including yourself...
ReplyDelete@precipite……. Your comments are recognizable with your real name or without…you must be delightful at gatherings.
DeleteCB
@CB or whatever you like to be called: i understand the frustration of people when their opinion is not shared by everyone.
DeleteIf you are unable to accept that there are other bloggers that don't like what you like its just your problem, not surely mine... ;)
Besides, its quite funny that an anonymous gives lessons on recognising who writes what... Keep on fantasizising... :)
@precip...I might point out that you are anonymous as well. You aren't using your given name. The difference is that some use their accounts and some don't. You are singling out a person that is signing their posts. This blog is once again posting anonymous posts without a signature. That is the definition of an anonymous post. I stopped using my account and starting posting anonymously with a signature for a reason. The last sentence you wrote is condescending. Let's get back to the point of the blog, which is fashion. This tangent is very distracting. ~d
DeleteMary is back to sparkly self.
ReplyDeleteShe looks gorgeous in this outfit, white looks lovely against her skin and that skirt is amazing, the whole outfit 10 plus for me.
Dear~d, I, like you, sign with my initials for my very own reasons, there is nothing more preposterous than signaling people out for not using their Gmail account, since everybody knows that you can simultaneously post as anonymous. Some posters are easily recognizable because one can’t scape the negativity and their desire to judge people, not about their fashion but about how they should live their lives , spend their monies and a myriad of things that aren’t even remotely interesting. I frankly don’t care about the social/political/moral opinions of the bloggers, however I am always interested on their fashion views, and contrary to what the above poster states, it doesn’t bother me one bit when people disagree with my views.

@CB or whoever: if you dont like judgements start yourself for first not to accuse people on a public site about having multiple accounts. Ask the adm. if you have problems with the policy of the site instead of catching "the tones".
ReplyDeleteYou have another chance too: scrolling down when you dont mind a bit about opinions.
Dont bother to answer since i wont reply anymore.
"Multiple personalities" does not have the same meaning as "multiple accounts", if that is what you thought. Maybe some of this back and forth was based on a misunderstanding. ~d
