The Spanish Royal Family visited Santiago de Compostela

Queen Letizia wore a floral embroidered organza dress from Carolina Herrera. Crown Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia

King Felipe, Queen Letizia, Crown Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia visited the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela on the occasion of Saint James' Day. Saint James' Day is a public holiday in the autonomous communities of the Basque Country and Galicia. July 25th is also Galicia Day. Last year, the traditional religious ceremony took place at the monastery of San Martiño Pinario due to renovation of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.

They all look just wonderful. Q. Letitia’s dress fits well, and the colours in the soft print flatter her. Q. Letitia has set such a good example for her girls with her emphasis on fit along with her impeccable posture and poise. (V.M.)

Letizia did a great job with her daughters. They are well mannered and incredibly courteous to people. They have never been caught sticking their tongue out in public even as very very young kids. She educated them properly, and it paid off. Beautiful family. Abby

Astonishing beautiful dresses of both mother and daughters!
Love the subtle way in which the colours of Letizia’s dress are repeated in the dresses of the princesses.
This is style at its very best!

Agreed! They look lovely. One thing I would personally change is Letizia's hairdo. It looks a bit casual, something a bit more sophisticated would have worked better I think. But nevertheless, they look picture perfect.

Letizia looks lovely. I like the deep red tones of the flowers scattered on the light background of a lovely summery dress. She and Carolina Herrera are a design match made in heaven.
Both the girls look nice too. If I had to choose between the two dresses, it would be the blue one hands down. The pleating detail is feminine and delightful for a young girl, and Sophia wears the dress well..

I hope to visit the Cathedral of St. James within the next couple of years after completing the Camino de Santiago. Several of our friends have done different routes in recent years and made live daily blogs; each journey was a lifetime memorable experience.

  6. Beautiful dresses for the Queen and her daughters. Very difficult to choose a favourite. I love the bright plain colours of both girls' dresses and the pleating detail on Infanta Sofia's dress possibly just edges it into first place. Crown Princess Leonor's kitten heels are perfect with her dress. The Queen's dress looks much better in her chosen length than the full length version on the model. Gorgeous.

  7. Wonderful to see the Spanish Royal family honouring their church and regal roles.
A credit to them all. Pity Prince Henry and Meghan of didn’t study this example of leadership and honour.

To the Rose. You cannot compare a king and a prince who is 6th or 7th in the line of succession. Besides I don't see the connection with fashion ?

@The Rose, why in the world does H&M fit into this post? We are looking at the king, Queen , two infantas which one of them would be the future queen . I guess some people need to air their grievances and stir the pot whether is germane to the situation or not. Since there hasn’t been any public appearances of the Sussexes you must bring them into conversation to start the hate, my goodness!!

And your ‘model of leadership and honour’ includes bullying people? Is it the old Inquisition model? Your way or else?? I actually think they are closer to the fundamental values of Christianity than those who have affairs and abuse their privileged positions. Also, what makes anyone feel quite so righteous? Cause it’s not really what the spirit of Christianity is, if you recall.

Criticism is not "bullying people," CH. While I agree that there's no reason to bring H&M into this discussion, criticizing them, when they have given the world such a huge amount of behavior and actions to criticize, is not the same thing as "bullying" them.

  9. Everyone looks wonderful! The infantas are such beautiful girls and I love their dresses. Queen Letizia looks amazing--she is so elegant (and teaching her daughters to be the same). HM is handsome as always. Its probably not planned but I love how one parent and one daughter each are wearing the same colors.

  17. If I had to choose a dress of these three for me I'd choose the one Leonor is wearing, I like that style. But I think the dress that looks better on her is Letizia's, she looks gorgeous with that dress, the bag and the shoes, the hair is perfect too.

It looks like Leonor finally surpassed her mother's height, they look the same height on the photos( even a little more in some of them) but Letizia wears higher heels. Sofía had already surpassed her the last year.

Leonor and Sofia look fantastic. Its so refresing that they look more adult but still manage to look girls that they still are (enjoy the childhood while you can!). I love their dresses. Both have their own style that suits them perfectly. The cut, fit, color of their dresses looks fantastic. Thei hair are beautifully styled.
Queen Letizia looks also very pretty. Beautiful dress and hairstyle.

Cotillas malintencionadas, ajo y agua.

@ zellie: If you look at the video from 18th June when everyone was at the awards for Cultural Merit, Sofia leaned across her mother to congratulate her father and hold his hand at the end of his speech. As Angie has said, they position themselves according to protocols. If she seems attached to her mother, good for her. All too soon they take wings and fly away.
What is this nonsense of criticizing Letizia 17 years into a marriage? Whether the prince chose well or poorly you were not there first, sit down! Marie

  22. Why is Meghan and Harry even mentioned in this thread? They were not and never going to be the future King and Queen of the UK. So why are they being compared to a King and Queen of Spain?

Leave Harry and Meghan alone to live their own lives which is working out very successfully for them!

    1. I agreed all you are saying. However, they should not build their success based on bad mouthing Harry's family and lying.

    2. Then Harry's family should stop lying and smearing them using the British press!

Harry's family aren't lying or using the British press. They are actually saying very little - which Harry knew damn well would happen. Funny how his narrative has changed - he couldn't praise his father enough in the past.

Whatever the truth of the matter (and I, personally, don't believe it was told in the infamous interview given how so much has since been disproven, shown to be exaggeration or came across as petty score settling) I think Harry needs to grow up, concentrate on the philanthropy and stop whinging about his life ie. cashing in on being part of a family he no longer feels part of.

    5. @Whatever! what is indisputable is that things which ended up in the media like 'crygate' and the baby shower for instance were leaked to the press as part of the gaslighting campaign. And the names she was allegedly called by staff.....
Having said that, it's rude to introduce a topic of your choosing. End.

      Delete
    6. Anonymous28/7/21 12:35

      Who is @whatever @MarigoldB?

I never said things were indisputable - I said we hadn't heard the whole truth. Also, the leaks to the press were certainly not benign in nature but yes, I do dispute that there was a "gaslighting campaign".

The baby shower became public from a variety of sources not just from the Palace. BTW the journalist who broke the story about the crying stands by her original story. Another version is both women ended up crying, Kate went round with flowers (as Meghan stated in the interview) and Meghan slammed the door in her face! So, I stand by my opinion that we don't know the whole truth because one side will never be able to give their perspective - and Harry knows that and is taking advantage. I think he now needs to concentrate on what he said they wanted to do and move on, instead of constantly referring back to an institution he felt trapped in.

And if someone mentions something in the comments I shall feel free to answer. Not sure where this new rule of introducing a topic of your choosing is rude came from - I believe it's called a discussion. But if you feel that way joining in the discussion hardly reflects well on you, does it?

I don't underestimate the Harry and Meghan pr machine either. I don't need the British press to tell me how to feel when Harry himself announces a book deal - including one for after his "beloved" grandmother dies.

Everyone looked fantastic. This CH deserved another outing. It can be worn in Spring or Summer and is just the right length. The shoes and handbag are divine. The mini Letizias were wearing silhouettes previously seen on Mom. Sofi's dress is reminiscent of the water green Nina Ricci last seen in Cuba, and Leonor's was the same outline as the Cortana worn in 2016. This was a master class on how to dress teenagers who are still growing. While Leonor needs to practice walking in heels, a pair of low heeled Ferragamos would have done the trick on those cobblestones.

@ladarlena: At the end of day, weighing in on someone else's family problem when you were not there and exonerating one side simply because they are 'pedestal worthy' and (therefore blameless at all times), while disbelieving the other is sycophantic! Not to worry, the Sussexes have been punished and sent to bed without supper or made to walk the plank if you prefer, but...this thread about the SRF. Marie.
