On July 16, King Carl Gustaf, Queen Silvia and Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden attended the Solliden Award 2021 Ceremony at Solliden Palace in Öland. King Carl Gustaf presented the Solliden Award called "the 2021 Öland Inhabitant of the Year" to the ceramicist and entrepreneur Lotta Sjöberg.
The Solliden Award (Årets Ölänning) is awarded to an individual who has made a remarkable contribution or achievement in a special field or who has taken actions or initiatives that promote the interests and development of Öland or who has made long-term efforts for the benefit of the island Öland.
Where is Sofia?
ReplyDeleteMargot- the original
Sofia is in the kitchen 🤣
DeleteAs always in home.
DeleteLeni
She and Carl Philippe are not primary duty royals, even though they are family. They do not have to attend all events where the King and the heir(ess) attend. No different than other royal families in Europe, and increasingly so the UK.

Sophia is with Victoria's sister, somewhere, other than here.

I would like to see the men in traditional garb. The ladies look nice.

ReplyDeleteNice to see them holding on to their tradition/s.
ReplyDeleteLots of colour and luminosity to brighten up their short summer.
Congratulations to Lotta Sjöberg for winning the prize.
Absolutely agreed! The ladies look wonderful!

Deadeggs, You are right about the short summer. I once saw a interview with Queen Sylvia and she commented that Sweden has 2 winters, the white one and the green one!
DeleteComing out of their own house holding bouquets.
ReplyDeleteWhatever for?
Obviously not to give to the recipient.
