On the third day of their visit to Germany, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands visited the "Berlin Global" exhibition at the Humboldt Forum and Cultural Centre in Berlin. Afterwards, The King and Queen visited the Technical University of Berlin (TU). The King and Queen then visited the green city at the Herzberge Landscape Park. Queen Maxima wore a floral print dress by Natan.
Natan Floral Print Dress - Spring Summer 2020 Collection

ReplyDeleteShe looks line her granny. But for one, it's not too stiff and too tight for Natan.
ReplyDelete"She looks like her granny" -you mean what exactly? That grannies look ridiculous (just because they are grannies and grannies dress in a way nobody likes - and what about old women without grandchildren, or do we call all old women grannies?) or old looking Máxima? - Well, there are things between heaven and earth, they are not meant to be understood ...
Delete(-Ann, who is over 70 - so what am I, a granny? :-)
You could not have said it better Ann. Thank you.
DeleteGaelle
The dress is okay, the cape is a bit much during the day. The belt is better than last time, and the hat is nice.
ReplyDeleteBut the earrings... Just wauw! The day I win the lottery, I'll be shopping at Ole Lynggaard too! Too bad she doesn't show them off because of the high collar of the dress.
Agree, I also love these fascinating earrings. Has she worn them before? S.M.
DeleteI rather agree, better than the first time she had it. But it ages her and as often a bit too much of everything.
DeleteI read that CP Mary of Denmark gave Maxima the tip for Ole Lynggaard juwelery
DeleteGaelle
Ole Lynggaard jewellery is magnificent. I can understand why it has captivated CP Mary's interest.
DeleteVery pretty dress except for that hem--I cannot wait until this hemline style is gone. I love her Ole Lynggaard earrings--CP Mary has a couple of pairs of this same style. I think this the best daytime look of her visit so far.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the dress she wore on arrival.
DeleteHi Janet so agree with you regarding the hemline I am not a fan myself. The out fit is out of proportion. The hat is too big, jewellery is blingy & the dress well as said prior regarding hemline. Mary I
DeleteOnce again wrong outfit for the occasion, what does she care!
ReplyDeleteJ
DeleteWhy does she insist on being so 'out there' with her clothing? It just makes her look needy. The hat, with an umbrella? The hat is too sporty to go with that dress and jewlery. At least her hair has been tucked away under the hat so its' not the usual mess. I'm personally getting tired of the weird color stockings with her sky high shoes. Just my personal take on yet another over the top outfit. She is beautiful, she could be classy and beautiful without all this extra stuff that just detracts from her beauty. Mandy
ReplyDeleteCod psychology at its finest.
DeleteHow about she just has a style that doesn't appeal to you?
G
@G: Agreed.
Delete- Anon 9:13
Agreed Mandy, you said it - sky high shoes, they look absolutely torturous imo and as if she needed the height! Does fashion only allow either sky high stilettos or flat's, seems there is nothing in between anymore. This outfit is a miss for me, I don't like the high neck and the chiffon fabric for daytime dress. Maxima could do so much better than this.
Deletewhat is cod psychology? sounds like G needs to speak english and not be rude to someone who is expressing their perception of the dress of the day. G G
DeleteIf you dont understand the phrase cod psychology - which, by the way, is perfectly acceptable English (note the capital E) - how do you know I'm being rude GG?
DeleteAlso, pot meet kettle....
G
GG. As a licensed professional, slang terms are not appropriate to include in ones miles long list of real issues. Yes, you are a POS, or POT, or whatever you choose to label yourself. Labeling yourself is a call for ........ (insert term). I still think her dress, hat, shoes are not appropriate for the occasion. :) G G
DeleteHmm - G G. Seems I'm not the one who has difficulty in writing English that's comprehensible. What are you a licensed professional of? Condescension? Cod psychology? Totally lost me with all that labelling guff.
DeleteActually, you're the POS. (Yikes, more slang!) (You need to learn to read - I said pot - lower case - can you tell the difference between upper and lower case letters?)).
By the way, couldn't give a stuff - oh no, more slang! - whether you think her outfit is appropriate (you do like that word don't you?). That wasn't the point of my original comment or your reply so don't why you're bringing it up here.
And you can insert that :) up your ......... G G G
I think the Queen looks amazing. It like the soft flow of her dress, even if a bit too fancy for daytime wear. Accessorized well.
ReplyDeleteI agree.
DeleteBea
I like it too, and agree that it is a little too dressy for just a normal days events. But that's Maxima and I love her for it. She dresses how she wants to.
Delete- Anon 9:13
Máxima wore this dress at the state visit to Indonesië some years ago. Hoped that it would never come out of the closet again. Unfortunately it did. Earrings top
ReplyDeleteAnd yet, another poor choice.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh when I saw the umbrella. She must be using it to keep that hat dry because the hat itself is large enough to protect her whole head and part of the dress from any rain. I do not care for this dress with its uneven hemline and weird sleeve design....the shoes are the only good thing here.
ReplyDeleteRenee
Why is it not good while on the model it is lovely?
ReplyDeleteThe faded tender colours are lovely and not “ granny”.
The belt and hat are far to robust, as are the nice earrings.
Let the dress be what it is: a soft sweet dress and it will be impressive.
Josh
On another "Royal" site, (in French), Queen Maxima gets glowing comments and an overall high mark for her role as Queen.
ReplyDeleteAlso on Instagram. There are many, many posts on different accounts and they always praise and admire Queen Máxima
DeleteI have been reading up on style personalities lately.
ReplyDeleteMaxima has a very dramatic style and I think it (mostly) works for her. She would not look herself in more demure clothing.
Why does Máxima always wear that hat on foreign visits? People want to see her face, not that hat (which is ugly & needs to be burned, smashed, or trashed). And yes, she could have re-positioned it & voilà she had her umbrella. Other than the color, that hat (belt, too)) doesn't go too well with the dress. But hey, this is over-the-top Máxima. ~Laurel~
ReplyDeleteGorgeous earrings. Dress is a little fancy for a daytime look but very Maxima. Her hair looks great with the chignon styled off to the side. The pin gets a little lost. I like her chocolate suede shoes but not with this dress. I think this is her favorite hat.
ReplyDeleteE.B.B.
In spite of the muted colour and the uneven hem, I rather like this dress. Definitely prefer this belt and bag. Love shoes, earrings and hat. Love the fact that she wears a formal outfit, including hat, when she is representing her country. The rolled back brim means the hat does not obscure her face in any way and as to there being a problem with hat plus umbrella, have you never seen Queen
ReplyDeleteElizabeth or Queen Margarethe with hat and umbrella?
I think this is overall a fail -there’s too much going on with the dress, the earrings, and the belt. I’d love to see those gorgeous earrings with a simple, monochrome outfit. I must say though that her hair looks wonderful. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteI love her dress and accessories… she looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteJudy
I like the dress and shoes and even the hat. Not sure why she was wearing one glove though? That she could have done without!
ReplyDeleteIt is part of the traditional Royal dress code.
DeleteP.
As always she is over the top! And quite odd for a day event...
