  1. Nice dress on Mette-Marit, right up my alley, but it is too tight. Hairstyle´s a bit girly but why not. In Scandinavia, you get away with that.
Sonja looks very elegant, with the hat adding a summer-y touch.

Mette-Marit is big-busted & that too-tight dress must be uncomfortable, especially with her lung condition. Otherwise, it's a nice appropriate dress. ~Laurel~

I do not know if it is okay to comment on fashion due to that sad and terrible memorial event.
I do not like Mette-Marits dress it is a bit too tight and her hair style is for little girls.
I like Queen Sonjas light / white outfit.

  4. Such an awful day for Norway! Commemorations are important to hold but are always painful--and you can see that in the expressions and body language of everyone in the photographs. Queen Sonja is lovely--and white is a color of mourning in many cultures. Given the associations of white with purity, the Queen's choice of white is so heartbreakingly appropriate. While her dress may be a too snug, I like CP MM's look. The dress is beautiful--and she looks so good in simple, tailored lines. As for her hair style--I love it. It is neat and unfussy. While I might have forgone the bow (which I agree with other posters is a bit juvenile), the half up/half down style is timeless and very flattering on MM. I like that her hair is not hanging down around her face.

I am glad the country continues to support those families left behind, after the horrific pain/death of their family members.

White may be a sign of mourning, however, I personally did not like the 'summery/frilly' type hat the queen was wearing. She is a wonderful, lovely woman, I just did not like the hat.

MM is dressed lovely, though the dress was a tad to snug, it was pretty, appropriate, and I also loved her youthful hairstyle with ribbon. jj
