Bad weather has been affecting the Germany-Belgium-Netherlands region for about two days. In Belgium, the government has confirmed that the death toll has reached to 20. On July 16, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium visited the municipality of Pepinster, where the situation remains critical as the water keeps rising after the heavy rainfall of the previous days. Pepinster is a Walloon municipality of Belgium in the province of Liège.
Well done, your majesties!

Very much agreed. Glad to see them. They look good, not wanting to comment on fashion as much in this terrible time.

Tenue adéquate pour cette visite même si je trouve que sa belle cravate me semble superflue !
ReplyDeleteYes, several places of Belgium, Germany and NL have been severely affected leading to many casualties. Queen Mathilde is dressed quite appropriately, good from them to visit these people.
ReplyDeleteI saw video of the King/Queen touring this area, and speaking with the woman. They were concerned, as they should be. Not going to comment on 'fashion', other than it was definitely appropriate for the day. I send out positive thoughts, and prayers for all those affected by the flooding and rain. jj
ReplyDeleteA truly horrible situation. They also took their time to listen to everyone.
ReplyDeleteFashionwise a very-well chosen and appropriate outfit. Her legs are so long and slim! I wonder why she wears baggy pants all the time when she can look like this.
I know this is not the time for fashion comments, but I will just piggyback on your comment. Mathilde looks so slim just having changed her style. Her hips have disappeared and there is no awkward high waist being emphasized. She suddenly looks proportional.
DeleteMy heart goes out to the people in the regions that have been flooded. I know from seeing floods in the US how devastating it is and how long the recovery can take. Philippe and Mathilde are wonderful for getting out there in the flood water to support the victims. ~d
Serious, formal, concerned, in place, as it should be, good for them

ReplyDeleteI can't believe how good Queen Mathilde looks in this casual, highly appropriate outfit on this sad and serious occasion. The King is rather overdressed for the occasion, but they both look good and very sincere and concerned, and I wish for the Best for the people affected by these floods.
ReplyDeleteMathilde should wear this style more often, in more refined versions.
Well done King and Queen. Thank you for your compassion for those affected by the flooding. (Both dressed appropriatly) jj
ReplyDeleteI cried when I saw that lady cried, and the king comforting her. So nice of them to go out and talk and show support for the people who's homes were destroyed/damaged.
