On the occasion of the 8th birthday of Prince George who is their eldest child, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have released a new photo of the Prince before his birthday. The photo was taken by the Duchess of Cambridge in Norfolk earlier this month. Prince George is third in line of succession to the British throne. He was born on 22 July 2013 at St Mary’s Hospital.

    I can see a great physical resemblance to King Edward VIII (the one who abdicated...) And eight years already, my, how time flies. The references made to the late Duke of Edinburgh, by placing George on the hood of a Land Rover Defender somewhere in nature are more than palpable. Well done.

    I saw this picture next to his Uncle Charles Spencer on another royal website and I was surprised how similar they are to each other. I had never seen the two together and especially now as George is getting older.

      Charles Edward Maurice Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer, Viscount Althorp is the maternal uncle of Prince William. He is also the younger brother to Princess Diana.

    As it should be, George looks like his relatives. :) Handsome little boy, all too quickly growing into a confident young man, with the support of parents, grandparents, great grandma, aunts/uncles/cousins, his siblings and his Nanny. jj
