On June 10, 2021, The Duchess of Cornwall visited the Garden Museum in London to open the annual British Flowers Week festival held in collaboration with New Covent Garden Flower Market. The Duchess also saw the Garden Museum’s new exhibition, ‘Constance Spry and Fashion for Flowers’, which was curated by Royal florist Shane Connolly.
Before leaving, The Duchess was given a bouquet containing rosemary, a sign of remembrance on what would have been the 100th birthday of The Duke of Edinburgh. Founded by New Covent Garden Market in 2013, British Flowers Week is an annual celebration of the wealth and variety of British cut flowers, plants and foliage.
Love this dress ... great look for Duchess Camilla and her smile is so lovely ...
ReplyDeleteWhite shoes, unless they are trainers, are common.

Although she may not be very cool in this weather she looks fresh, cool and comfortable in this shirt dress with a nice degree of casualness which I find very attractive.
ReplyDeleteI am usually not too fond of Camilla's style, but I like this. The print is fantastic. I love this whimsical jungle print with the animals. I see toucans, lemurs, and tree frogs! I like her in the lighter fabric. So often she is in fabrics that look heavy, which seem to weigh her down. The self belt is a great choice choice here, giving a little definition. The only problems I see are poor undergarments, which is a chronic problem, and the shoe color. Nude shoes that disappear would be my preference, and of course a bra that raises the breasts would give her more visual space between her breasts and her waist. ~d
ReplyDeleteYes, you mention heavy fabrics - I thought about that the other day. Whether they are preferentially chosen because they can give one a favourable contour instead of minutely showing your own contours (the latter ist fine in younger age but not always when we are older)? Look at men in their "heavy" suits, even quite corpulent gentlemen can look nice if their jacket has substance and is tailored well. But this dress is more flowy and nevertheless beautifully made and she looks great in it. - As to breasts - well, above 70 they are not what they used to be and if they have a certain volume, it is not that easy to raise them up but at the same time keep a natural appearance. Should we think about higher breasts as optimum for everybody and every body? :-) A look at old photos from the pre-bra era tells a different story - breasts sitting quite naturally lower: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maria_von_Teck#/media/Datei:Queenmaryformalportrait_edit3.jpg

Perfect dress for the occasion. I think Ashe looks great. (V.M.)
ReplyDelete@ (V.M.) Agree that it is a good frock for the occasion (by Camilla's standards).
DeleteBut when I fist saw the photos, I thought of the modern wallpaper designs that are being used in interieur house decorations today.
Is it a print of a jungle scene?
Can't quite work out the design compositon.
I know this is a fashion blog, but I had to admit that I was completely anti - Camilla. Thru the years since her marriage to PC, she has shown herself to be hard working and classy. She has become one of my favorite roles, just by being herself.
ReplyDeleteLovely summer dress---usual style, which is so flattering for her, but a darker print, which looks great. Wish she would get nicer shoes.
ReplyDeleteA really lovely dress, in the olde Camilla -style, with a delightful variation of a relaxed bow around the waist. And beautiful, healthy and natural shoes on the ladies, so that they can walk without damaging their backs and feet. - Ellie
ReplyDeleteMuch better shape and silhouette with a belt. This she should have more often, otherwise she looks so “mummy” and a bit like Miss Ellie in her usual dress shapes...

ReplyDeleteThe Duchess gives off the appearance of a happy grandmother, who is not to be bothered by fashion.
ReplyDeleteHow right you are.
DeleteSo back to the horses, hunting and boots.
