Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development, received the 2021 Financial Health Visionary Award at EMERGE Financial Health conference. Jennifer Tescher, President and CEO of Financial Health Network, presented the award to Queen Maxima. The award recognizes individuals who have shown unparalleled leadership in building more accessible and inclusive financial systems, and who consistently inspire and encourage the next generation of leaders to innovate new solutions for the financially underserved.
Can't see much of what she's wearing, but what little is there, looks great both in style and colour! No comment on her hair. :) - Ellie
ReplyDeleteI think I agree with you Tulipe but, as you say, difficult to have an opinion on the dress since we see so little but the color looks fine, the hairstyling is ok
DeleteJust a clip in the hair to make a ponytail would make my day...

OMG. The stupid award giving to people whose only jobs are these meaningless representations on all kind of subjects has started again. They are being paid handsomely (to say the least) to show up at certain events and to read speeches written by others. But for doing so they deserve an award as well!
ReplyDeleteLily T.
If you don't know what you're talking about, please refrain from stupid remarks.
DeleteEXACTLY, Lily T! Thought about it myself, but then commented on the outfit only. - A dingeling crystal trophy for futile presentations of nothingness to one of those too many whose job it is to do what you said so well. Alas, it creates employment for makers of those crystal trophies priced c. USD 100, with personalized ingraving, and the price drops to USD 96 if you purchase 100 or more in one go. It's a bargain! - Ellie
DeleteOh dear why so sour. In the first place she is never paid to show up anywhere and even if just on show she achieves half of what all claim it is very worth it.
DeleteI never heard of a queen being paid for an appearance. She has a degree in economics, received her masters in the US, and worked in finance before becoming a member of the royal family.

Queen Máxima passed her baccalaureate examinations at Northlands School in 1988.
She graduated in economics from the Universidad Católica Argentina in 1995.
From 1989 to 1990, while still at university, she worked for Mercado Abierto SA, where she did research into software for financial markets.
From 1992 to 1995, she worked in the Sales Department of Boston Securities SA in Buenos Aires. She also taught English to children and adults, and mathematics to secondary school pupils and first-year students.
From July 1996 to February 1998, Queen Máxima worked for HSBC James Capel Inc. in New York, where she was Vice-President of Latin American Institutional Sales. She then worked for Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, as Vice-President of the Emerging Markets Division, until July 1999.
She subsequently moved to Deutsche Bank in New York, where she was Vice-President of Institutional Sales. From May 2000 to March 2001, she worked at the EU Representative Office of Deutsche Bank in Brussels.
@Nalerina: they are being paid out of tax money for their work. And what they actually achieve is the best kept secret of our time. Fact is that countries without a monarchy are doing as good as monarchies in all possible aspects.
DeleteLily T.
an old debate .... Countries with a monarchy are no doing better BUT NOT Worse... Scandinavian countries are obvious examples. It is proven that rotating presidents are more expensive than monarchies for various reasons, one being the pensions allocated to all of them after their term. Being said, I agree with Anonymous (whom I regret to call anonymous...) : I never heard of a queen being paid for an appearance.
DeleteSo let's allow them to carry on with their job.
Dearest Lily T,
DeleteThis is a fashion blog. Please treat it as such. SJ
Receiving award for excellence in some field, cool beans, if she really was innovative and did the work.
ReplyDeleteBlouse with tie of some sort, or is it a dress? Hard to tell in the photo.
Hair, a mess as usual. She has hair brushes, clips, tie backs, even a plain ribbon to pull the hair back into a nice tidy pont tail, or easy updo, would look so much more professional, rather than just let it hang limp, lank, and messy. She must not care about appearance, or have a distorted vision of her hair in the bathroom mirror when applying makeup. (MY opinion).
Great smile. Annie
Love this colour on Q Max, and her frizure, as well.
ReplyDeleteI'm interested in her expertise in financial literacy and access, and I think she'd be an engaging persona on this topic. I've learned so much from my friends, women in finance like Q Max, and she'd be a fantastic voice in the convo.
Congratulations, Q Max!

Hard to tell about the dress, but I do love the color. The hair looks fine.
ReplyDeleteI am always reminded that she looks so much like the American actress Connie Britton, the face, legs and if she could just copy her hair it would be even closer.

Not fond of the color of the outfit, it is more a fall color. Hair, lanky and messy. cami
ReplyDeleteDelighted to see this intelligent and high profile lady receive recognition. Hopefully, she will continue to encourage more girls to enter the field of finance, viewed by some, even high fliers, as dull and unexciting. You could never call Queen maxima dull and unexciting. Like the blouse.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous @18:23, that little pesky thing called facts..:-) regardless of her over the top sartorial choices, Máxima is an incredible prepared woman, and it shows in her confidence. She strikes me as a rather interesting person.
ReplyDeleteCherry
I think it's lovely Queen Maxima's work is being recognized, and that she has received an award as a token of appreciation for her efforts. I agree with Bepa that she would be an inspirational friend to have. S.M.
