On June 4, 2021, Queen Mathilde of Belgium visited the VIVES University of Applied Sciences campus in Kortrijk. The Queen met with students from the nursing course who were involved in the intensive care in various hospitals during the Covid-19 pandemic crisis. Queen Mathilde also visited two simulation rooms where students and caregivers learn to put their skills into practice. Hogeschool VIVES is a University College in West Flanders. The name refers to the Spanish-Brussian humanist Juan Luis Vives.
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit for the occasion. Pants are a bit busy, but the solid blouse offset the pants nicely.
ReplyDeleteAgree with Tulipe33. I liked the first photo until I saw the trousers. Why would she think they were flattering?
DeleteI agree that had the pants been the color of the blouse, and the blouse the print, used for the pants, Queen Mathilde would have been much more attractive at this engagement.
ReplyDeleteI would have preferred this outfit in reverse, the pattern on the top and a solid pant. But Queen Mathilde does love her printed pants :)

While most commenters would prefer the classic way - trousers in plain colour, top/blouse with pattern. I think this way round it looks much more modern and stylish. I like the look, the burgundy suits Mathilde well and the trousers emphasize her long legs. Her hair looks good, quite natural and not so helmetlike overstyled as we see it often with her. It would look even better with a modern cutting technique, ends curled in instead of out.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Beth, pattern trousers with this burgundy jacket looks nice and modern. -Siri
