On the occasion of International Nurses’ Day 2021, The Earl and Countess of Wessex visited Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey. The visit included dropping in to see some of Frimley Park Hospital’s newly refurbished staff rooms and a tea and cake celebration with nurses in the Post Graduate Education Centre. Many of the nurses invited to the event had been nominated by their colleagues for their outstanding work during the pandemic.
International Nurses Day is an annual celebration that acknowledges and celebrates the commitment and bravery of nurses around the world. It is celebrated on May 12th every year, on the birthday of nursing pioneer Florence Nightingale. (The Countess wore a new knitted pleat dress from ME+EM.)

Wonderful! The dress, the coat and the shoes/boots.
ReplyDeleteEven the snakeskin clutch works because it has a textured print to enliven the solid colours of the dress and coat. Well done Sophie.

ReplyDeleteI love seeing Sophie out on engagements. What puzzles me with her choice of style, is why she wears everything so long ! She has a lovey figure, and yet she seems to choose things that swamp her. I'm not a fan of her longer hair. She has a similar hair texture to Maxima. A better option would be to cut it to a bob sized length. Ana
ReplyDeleteSophie looks lovely and so natural, but I do think an up-hairdo is more flattering for her, especially on a windy day.
ReplyDeleteThe Dress is very nice, but I don't like the ankle length and the boots with it.
But still better than the clunky loafers on the model!
Interesting dress, colours, details. I do like the boots. Perhaps a bit longer than my taste, but it seems to be her cup of tea. Nicely done, Sophie!

Very nice - quite a trendy look with ankle boots and clutch.
ReplyDeleteAnd another lovely reason for the visit.

Yes to everything, however yes a bit too long. I love ankle length boots, I think Camilla should consider it as well.
ReplyDeleteI agree with others’ comments that the dress is far too long. She seems to prefer this length for some reason, even though it isn’t flattering. I’d also say that the style of the coat with its long flapping lapels would look far better on a much taller woman. Overall though she is one of my favourite royals, always engaged and attentive. It’s good to see P. Edward too. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteI like and admire Sophie, always have. But in my opinion the long dress and coat do not look great with ankle boots. A shorter dress and coat would've looked better.
ReplyDeleteEdward; button your shirt, it looks sloppy
ReplyDeleteSophie: dress and coat way too long. Coat has a lovely color, but the bulk and length are too much. The dress looks interesting, but again, too long. Boots, not a good look for short booties with a long dress, it looks odd.
Hair could have been tied back, or in updo, would have looked better in the outdoors, which looked messy with the wind.
