More Music in Classroom platform (Méér Muziek in de Klas) is campaigning for 50 days on the occasion of the 50th birthday of Queen Máxima to include more music education in the primary school curriculum. Today, Queen Maxima visited the ECI Cultuurfabriek in Roermond within the scope of "More music in the classroom" programme. Afterwards, the Queen visited the openlucht theater Cabrio in Soest. This platform aims to make structural music education accessible for all primary school children in the Netherlands.
In every way gorgeous! Move on like this Máxima

Yes! S.M.
DeleteOh dear today Maxima is masquerading as a very young bridesmaid. Pretty headdress and long hair hanging down her back.
ReplyDeletePLUS who on earth produced that skirt with a disaster of a hemline? If your skirt needs to be longer at the back/or shorter than the front to hang level with the ground and you have a fabric that has such a definite horizontal line then it needs to be adjusted at the waist and in such a subtle way that you disguise it.
I was also wondering about why such an hemline; usually fantasy hemlines clearly show the intention to be asymmetric, here it looks like a defect. It does not make sense. The headband is not suitable for an adult woman IMV, unless for a festive occasion.
DeleteI agree with nalerina. I think she borrowed the headdress from her youngest daughter.
DeleteAnother winning outfit from Queen Maxima. Boy, has she upped her game in recent appearances. The headband is fantastic, very youthful and deals with the potentially straggly hair (though from the back view, it seems that her split ends have been tamed). The blouse and skirt are lovely and well fitted. A very minor quibble would be that a contrasting colour for the shoes and bag might have livened it up but another great outfit.
ReplyDeleteNatan+QueenMaxima=WhatsNext?
ReplyDeleteFor once, a subdued, yet nice outfit. Too bad she does not sit like a queen with straddling the chair. Overall, nice outfit. Clare
ReplyDeletelol...but in all fairness, look at the chair she is sitting on. Maxima is not demure nor petite in body or personality. I think she's doing her best to fit herself in that chair and at the same time to engage with the children by leaning forward. I'd say it's fine for this event.

Au contraire! She’s not straddling the chair. Due to its size & shape, she has sat forward to give her body an erect and formal appearance. At least that’s how I was taught almost 55 yr ago in the EN school boarding school system. Times have changed.
DeleteI do like this ensemble.
ReplyDeleteThe champagne colour is lovely and the fit and form of skirt and top looks great on Maxima. I also like the open neck of the shirt collar as well as her hair and the headdress/headband. I don't think anything is overdone at all. Just right.
Her warm smile and presence is the perfect accessory. Well done!

Exactly my thoughts, I fully agree
DeleteTotally agree! Judy
DeleteThis is a good outfit though (dare I say it) a bit boring for this queen. The color is low-key but the shimmering effect prevents it from being dull. The head band is a good touch. Her pretty nude colored shoes and bag match everything else. For the first time in recent memory, Queen Maxima shows that it is not always glitz and glamor.
ReplyDeleteLove the floral headpiece. Beading on the skirt adds some fun and interest to a monochromatic look.

This is very understated for Maxima. I like it - love the neutral shade and her hair looks in much better condition than recently.

I think this is too “ grandma Moses” in style for an outgoing personality like Maxima.
ReplyDeleteThe tissue of the skirt is to stiff and thus very unflattering, and the colour of it all too bleak.
The hairdo very fake, and the flowers...I have no words for that!

This silhouette looks fantastic on her, more of this style please! Great color as well, she looks better than she has in a long time. I like her hair pulled back also, great style for her.

ReplyDeleteGreat outfit and the headband is an interesting hat replacement. More subdued than we are used from Maxima, good to see her changing things up.

I will never understand this preoccupation with age-dependency. Why, oh why is a floral headband inappropriate for an "adult" or, let's speak clearly, also for an old woman? this is simply beyond me. Same applies for long hair. Gender equality yes, but no equality for age differences within our own gender? - The last horizontal line on the skirt (2nd pic) suggest that the hemline difference is not a bug, it is a feature. Lovely color! (-Ann.)
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you, Ann. Women of any age can wear a headband!! When it is coordinated with the outfit, it can be a great fashion accessory. Both Catherine and Letizia have proven that fact. Here Maxima looks great. The skirt and blouse are tres chic and oh so feminine which makes the headband the perfect finishing touch.

Nice outfit but all for the wrong occassion.
ReplyDeleteNice Outfit , a bit glam maybe for daytime but Maxima is Queen!
ReplyDeleteI have no problem with the moderate high/ low skirt, and the Headband looks great, I disagree with the posters who seem to think that middle aged Women should not wear them. It looks great and complements (and controls) her hair .
Well done Maxima.
