Two new photos of Queen Elizabeth and the Prince of Wales have been released on the occasion of the launch of a brand new tree-planting initiative that was created to mark Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee in 2022. One of the photos show The Queen and The Prince of Wales with the first Jubilee tree, planted by The Prince of Wales in the grounds of Windsor Castle earlier this year. The other photo shows The Prince of Wales as he plants the very first tree in the grounds of Windsor Castle.

The tree-planting initiative The Queen's Green Canopy (QGC) was launched on Monday to encourage people in the UK to plant a tree ahead of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, which will mark the 70th year of The Queen's reign. The launch day of the QGC also coincides with the Virtual Chelsea Flower Show, which takes place between 17 and 21 May. People across the country will be invited to ‘Plant a Tree for the Jubilee’ from October this year, when the tree-planting season begins.

Well it appears the weather is a little cold in the U.K. ,Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles look good out in the country side; it is encouraging to all of us that we should plant a tree for the future. I wonder what type of tree they have planted?

  4. When I look at the photos I understand what people mean when they use the expression "so British" for people or things.
But on a slightly kinder note, I love the way the Queen is getting on with the job and her life. Bravo madam. I hope Prince Charles is taking note.

Charles truly doesn’t know what to do with his hands. It is bizarre!

Also, it must be very cold, Her Majesty’s coat is one she often wears on the train on her Christmas time sojourn to Sandringham.

Great initiative. Prince Philip was the first royal to draw attention to the environment and I am quite sure they are both very much thinking of him.
