On April 30, 2021, Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie went to Fond-de-Gras to attend the baptism of the steam train AES-5 owned by the Railway Museum and Tourism Association (AMTF). From now on, the train will bear the name "Stephanie". Fond-de-Gras is a small valley where there are numerous mining galleries. At Fond-de-Gras, over 100 years of industrial history is brought vividly to life.
The AES-5 steam train links Pétange with Fond-de-Gras just as it used to around the end of the last century. At the end of the baptism ceremony, the Hereditary Grand Duchess received information on the renovation of the rolling stock during a visit to the workshop.

same style over and over again. She used to dress a lot better
ReplyDeleteJ.
She used to look really lovely. Now she blends in well with the guys on her far right (one in a grey top, the other in a yellow top). A lovely, flowy shirt with a tie bow, the shirt clearly meant to be worn tucked under a waist of a skirt, is a choice perhaps only Stephanie would make. However, since she met with a locomotion, I guess it did not mean that much. - The flowers are lovely.
ReplyDeleteAnd she was lovely before. Whatever the reason, it's in her mind, without financial restrictions. - Ellie
I still believe she thinks this sort of 'no style' fits better with her morphology, hopefully temporary. I have heard that sort of comments from colleagues earlier : 'if I cannot dress like I wish, I have rather pick up whatever easily fits me'. I was wondering how she would dress in case there were some official evening occasions. But it is purely speculative since there aren't such events right now.
DeleteAnd I get the impression she is trying to copy Queen Maxima's hairstyle.
DeleteJoli dégradé de vert entre la grande écharpe et le pantalon mais je ne sais pas si le nœud sur ce chemisier blanc flatte vraiment Stéphanie ; j'aimerais bien voir le détail de ses boucles d'oreilles !
ReplyDeleteShe does not have a flat iron?
ReplyDeleteShe certainly has but she just doesn't care.
DeleteAlthough I do like the shawl (beautiful shade of green), it wasn't a good idea to wear it for an event where she has to move her arm(s). It looks awkward and unprofessional when you have to fumble with your clothes while on the job.
Unflattering as always.
ReplyDeleteI happen to think her hair looks nice. She is sticking to a 'uniform' these days of a loose top and trousers, and I think the solid colors work better than prints. I personally think she is just not a fashionista, and she wears clothes for function. She looks fine, I don't find anything wrong with this. She doesn't need to be a clothes horse or fashion icon, we already have those. She seems to serve her charities just fine.

I agree. Well written response.
DeleteDoesn't hurt that green is my fave colour, so I like this ensemble on that point alone.

Totally agree.
DeleteI think she looks fine. It's not high fashion and I don't especially like that style of trouser but it's smart enough and the colours are pretty, especially the shawl.

To appear at work in clothes that aren't ironed or steamed is not smart but makes her look like a clueless idiot. There is a whole world between being a fashionista and looking poorly groomed, sloppy and unprofessional. Perhaps Stephanie needs a strict dresscode like that of the Japanese court. The ladies are certainly dressed in a very conservative style, but always neat and appropriate with perfectly tailored skirt or pant suits. Just what Stephanie needs, four good pant suits and four good skirt suits with an assortment of matching tops.
Etonnante.

Not a very flattering look. A fitting midi length summer coat would have made a huge difference and a nice silhouette. The green colors are very nice though.
ReplyDeleteFor me it does not look "good", it looks disheveled, and frankly I do not understand it, it has the possibilities, perhaps it lacks the desire, it is not justifiable in a person with responsibility for public representation, if it were private there would be no comment for my part, not the least, total respect, it is not the case ...
ReplyDeleteOh là là, Mme Michu a vite jeté son fichu sur les épaules car du monde l'attendait
ReplyDeleteI am going to be positive here. Stephanie is wearing a cut of trousers that are more flattering than she has worn in the past. She is not "all hips" in these pants. The wider leg helps minimize her trouble area, making it blend in. She is also not wearing black trousers, something that has gotten a lot of mention. It is a different color at last. While I would have liked another shade of green, such as olive, at least it is a change. I agree that her blouse is another in a long line of plain white blouses. The tie is not a good look, and the shawl is impractical and uninspired. Since she is more comfortable wearing her blouses untucked right now, wearing blouses with some shape or interest would make a big difference. Adding cute jackets would complete an outfit in a more youthful and polished way than a shawl will. I will skip over the shoes this time. I can assume they were worn to be practical this time. Everyone has dirty shoes. ~d
ReplyDeleteWhile I do like the colour this time, as it is a welcome departure from all the dull beiges and uninspired neutral tones of last, I just have to add that the shawl is just not what you would wear for a train christening, as it hinders your free movement. Adding to it the not properly ironed item... sorry to say, but whe you step out on an official engagement, at least your wardrobe should be impeccable (or near to impeccable). Instead of the white blouse (the same dress pattern all over again) , a black one to match her shoes would have looked very much better with the green spring theme of the rest. With just a few minor changes this could have been a good overall look - alas, it was not to be yet again.
ReplyDeleteIt's a kind of funny the way she dresses. She could not care less. While other royals do their utmost to dress after the latest fashion and select clothes from the finest designers she puts on her daily trousers with a wrinkled shawl. I think it's a clear statement
ReplyDeleteThere are many jobs other than royal where you are not allowed to show up like she does.
DeleteThere is the Princess Royal who obviously couldn't care less for fashion (wearing outfits that are at least 20 years old), but she never ever looks sloppy or unprofessional. That's how it is done.
I am on board with the color of the pants, a good departure the usual black ones, the blouse is bland, and I applaud the effort on wearing a shawl, although like many have mentioned it definitely needs a good ironing. Yes, she looks a little drab, but I find the comments like “ she does not care” and others in that vein, just terribly harsh and presumptuous, yes, she is not fashion icon and her taste in clothing is not great, but assuming that she is not caring is a bit of a stretch.

And I see people still haven't gotten any manners. We continue to act like trolls, be mean and rude. Is this the way you want people to talk to you? If not why do you think it's ok to talk about Stephanie this way? We can comment on fashion and still be nice. Steph is a nice girl and doesn't deserve to be stepped all over. There is nothing wrong with anything she has on or her hair, We see the other royal ladies in the same sort of pants and shirt. We see royal ladies in the same sort of shawl. We see other royal ladies with the same hairstyle, but they never get so much nastiness. What's wrong with this picture and what is wrong with us when a photo produce so much hate? Try to reflect over the fact that this is people made of flesh and blood with feelings. No wonder they get mental problems reading all this crap about themselves - Anne
ReplyDeleteMany of the comments here are, in my opinion, unfair. Grandduchess Stephanie probably went through a painful time to get pregnant, medically speaking, then all the pressure from outside, so her baby is most probably a miracle. She is presumably nursing and has problems regaing her former figure, like so many other women. With this background in mind, I think she looks fine and fresh for the specific occasion. Just look at men around her. They all have dusty shoes and look somewhat rumpled. It is also her duty to make people around her feel comfortable in her presence and not to overdress.
