King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema have arrived in Thimphu after their visit to the eastern dzongkhags of Bhutan. During the visit, the King and Queen were accompanied by Prince Jigme Namgyel and Prince Ugyen Wangchuck. The Kingdom of Bhutan is divided into 20 districts (Dzongkha: dzongkhags). Dzongkhags are the primary subdivisions of Bhutan.
The Royal Tour that started on March 26 and ended on April 13 covered Bumthang, Mongar, Pemagatshel, Tashigang, Tashiyangtse, and Lhuentse. This was Prince Ugyen Wangchuck’s first visit to the east. The King and Queen visited Thegchog Ugyen Chholing Lhakhang in Dramitse on April 5, and the Namdroling Dratshang in Autsho, Lhuentse on April 6.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all villagers could not gather in one place to offer Tshogchang to welcome the Royal Family, as is tradition in the east. However, the people waited by their homes and shops wherever the Royal Family travelled in order to welcome their King and Queen.
During the Royal Tour, the King and Queen and the Princes were accompanied by Queen Mother Tshering Yangdon, Prince Jigme Dorji Wangchuck and Ashi Yeatso Lhamo.

ReplyDeleteQuelles belles photos colorées de la famille royale en tournée dans son pays ; les petits princes qui grandissent bien vite sont toujours aussi craquants !
ReplyDeleteThe little prince is too cute! And how beautiful those traditional clothes are!
ReplyDeleteAgree on both points @Coralie.
DeleteThe little princes are adorable. The King and Queen are very beautiful. I love their colorful clothing. They seem very attentive to all they meet, and reverent to their national customs. One of my favorite royal families.
ReplyDeleteWow, the little Princes are growing so fast, both so adorable. As usual, Queen Jetsun Pema looks beautiful and exudes class and elegance. I always love seeing this family.
