Zara knit jacket and knit midi dress
Hair, hair, and more hair, flung this way and that, covering a head of an intelligent, yet insecure woman who covers her body with over sized jewelry, outfits, and hats to hide behind a torrent of personal insecurity. It is like an actor, wearing a costume, a mask, a body suit, to portray something they want the world to see.
ReplyDeleteMy poem for the day is above. My personal opinions follow. Like or dislike as you want, this is a forum for personal thoughts on the subject of fashion. Don't like the hair, over sized strange jewelry, or the dress thought the subtle seaming running down the front of the frock are an interesting addition. Cali
exaggerated criticism about the hair, can however agree on the over sized jewelry.
Delete???
DeleteDo you know her personally? Otherwise, how can you make these accusations?
In total agreement with you, Cali!

I agree.....almost everything about her always is overdone and "fakey".

Queen Max’s hair is beautiful! Her Highlights are perfect and her hair has been restored to a soft and shiny look.
DeleteMeanness, criticism an rudeness says more about ourselves then the people we try to step all over. Why can't we behave like adults? We can say what we like and keep the rest to ourselves. How can grown up excpect that their kids are supposed to behave when they are not able themselves? Max is a beautiful, confident woman with her own unique taste in cloths and jewlery. A lovely lady. Kudos! Jane
DeleteCali, if you call this a poem, then I'm Shakespeare 😂
DeleteShe can have the colour, but I don't like the dress. It's not a flattering design for her.
ReplyDeleteMaxima loves her belts, and the wider the better. Again, the belt is failing her. I think she could have made a belt work this time if she belted the dress alone with a thinner belt and worn the outer seater over the dress, unbelted. She would have then reduced the bulk at her waist instead of emphasizing the fact that she has lost her waist. Belting just the dress would give the illusion of a waist because we would only see a small piece of the belt while the rest would be covered by the outer sweater. While Maxima can wear autumnal colors well, I am not excited by this color. This is a hard color to wear year round. ~d
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with her hair today, I like the color, the style and the complements, if only the belt would’ve been an inch thinner and the necklace half the size, she would have nailed it...
ReplyDeleteCB
Other than that belt I think she looks very nice. Her dress/sweater combination tones with the colours of where she is speaking from focusing on what she is saying so that one is not distracted by what she is wearing, not even by that large necklace. I do not understand the hair complaints. Her hair is about 100 times better in the last few weeks and if one can modernise ones mind about what suitable queens hair must look like, it suits her really.
ReplyDeleteWhat does not suit her are large leather belts. I agree with Anonymous 19/4/21 18:30 if she has to wear a belt a very thin one would have looked better.
So glad someone else shares my views. I also think that Queen Maxima's hair has looked much better in her recent appearances without the straggly split ends that we have become used to. I like the colour of this dress but agree that the broad belts she favours are not flattering.
DeleteTotally agree with you nalerina! Judy

ReplyDeleteI think either the belt or the necklace should go (personally I'd ditch the big belt.) The color is ok, I think she looks better in brighter colors though. In the first picture, I almost jumped for joy and thought she got a haircut.
ReplyDeleteChel
I have always admired Maxima wearing oversized baubles. Love her look today.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful hair lately!

Love, love, love how Q Max is focused on this issue at hand - Inclusive Finance - an important issue to make sure that everyone can succeed in the world. Her outfit and hair makes her more accessible to regular people all over the world. When Q Max needs to turn up the wattage, she does, but this opportunity is not the time to turn up the wattage, this is when one is talks about inclusive financial solutions for ALL people in the UK and the world.

Spot on, ~D.
DeleteQ Max is a woman of substance and depth, bringing her energy and passion to the table for a vital area of impact.
She knows when to express her vivacious personal style, and when to allow another aspect of her persona shine through.
She is complex and intelligent, with a great sense of self awareness. While we all chose how to present ourselves to the world everyday, I don't get the impression that Q Max is insecure.
Her hair looks lovely.

To me helas it is evident she has no taste for fashion and no personal style.
ReplyDeleteSo , sometimes it is good, sometimes totally wrong, and always exaggerated.
Judy ( not the above Judy!)
I agree about the hair. It looks normal and healthier. The ZARA dress makes me laugh though. Big spender Maxima from time to time shows up in something cheap .....
ReplyDeletein contrary to the highstreet clothes worn by Letizia, after one wear, never to be seen again.... done to placate common folk.
This dress could work without the belt, as stated before. As usual, too much of everything.
She is not a smart dresser, who can make cheap clothes look elegant, so much is clear. A skill Letizia pulls of regularly.

Jeemig, ik viel bijna van mijn stoel toen ik de eerste regel van je commentaar las. Je kunt zowaar iets positiefs over Maxima zeggen. Ben ik niet van je gewend Lily T.

@SJ..... glad to see that I have a loyal follower. Indeed, I am not a fan of Maxima’s fashion choices nor of her public personality which to me comes across as fake. But, if you are indeed aware of all my comments, you must have noticed that I never mention her hair. Contrary to the general opinion, I find her hair not as bad as her total lack of dress sense or elegance. Veel groeten van, wie anders dan.....
