Today, Danish Queen Margrethe turns 81. Margrethe II (born on April 16, 1940) is Queen of Denmark and commander-in-chief of the Danish Army. Margrethe succeeded her father upon his death on January 14, 1972. Once again this year, Queen Margrethe’s birthday on 16 April will be celebrated differently than usual. Like last year, The Queen will spend the day at Fredensborg Palace, where the birthday will be celebrated privately.
Happy Birthday to a very honourable, intelligent and delightful Queen and woman. May you enjoy good health and happiness for many more years to come.

ReplyDeleteWishing Queen Margrethe a very happy birthday. Love the red jacket, so cheerful.

She seems great! I love her spunky nature.
ReplyDeleteQueen Margrethe is a no nonsense kind of person; I love her style. Actual royals are so different from those who marry into the families.
ReplyDeleteDo not forget her daughter in law Crown Princess Mary who is a commoner. She has assumed her role beautifully and will be one fabulous Queen!
DeleteHappy birthday, Queen Margarethe. Wishing good health for many years to come. Anon 1:50, your comment about those who marry into royal families seems a massive generalisation. Some do wonderfully well, others less so. And there are some quirky and eccentric ‘real’ royals. The late Princess Margaret comes to mind, possibly Princess Martha Louise.
ReplyDeleteFITZHUGH, totally agree!
