On April 12, 2021, Queen Letizia of Spain attended a memorial event organized by the Congress of Deputies in honour of Clara Campoamor Rodríguez. The event was the first activity with which the country will celebrate the 90th anniversary of the approval of the women's suffrage in Spain. (Queen Letizia wore a two-piece red suit by Spanish fashion designer Roberto Torretta)Clara Campoamor Rodríguez was born on 12 February 1888 and passed away on 30 April 1972. She was a Spanish politician and feminist best known for her advocacy for women's rights and suffrage during the writing of the Spanish Constitution of 1931. She alone struggled for women’s suffrage and after a hard debate within the Spanish Parliament, she won it. ReplyDeleteAgree about the styling of the suit, additionally I like how the ankle slits create a wave of red fabric when she walks. Letizia looks magnificent with her perfect posture and the fit of the suit creating long lines. Letizia is expert at making a business suit look classy and stylish. I've noticed that Spanish women seem to wear pants at business or social functions more often than their European counterparts, yet they always appear well-dressed. I'm all in favor! S.M.

ReplyDeleteI agree with the comments above. Queen Letizia looks fabulous in red and most other colors. The young lady in the pale green pants with cream colored blazer and shoes also looks wonderful.
