  1. Letizia is beautiful, as always. Her dress, shoes and clutch match very nicely. I wish she were a jewelry wearer; a necklace or brooch would have been a great complemented her ensemble. The king looks very handsome. I love his pin-striped suit and the color of his shirt and tie.

    1. Agree ! except on the brooch, for her it could only be a modern one and those are often quite big, see Maxima's brooches... Today blue looks as if it were the dress code for ladies ....

  2. Quelle belle robe bleue qui met sa silhouette en valeur ; avec le manteau blanc, elle est très élégante - De nouveaux escarpins que j'aimerais bien voir de plus près ?! Magnifiques chaussures de Felipe de couleur Bordeaux !

  4. Sadly, I don’t care for Letizia’s appearance today. The dress needs some jewelry or a pop of color to liven it up. Her hair is not up ñ to its usual shiny style and the gray streaks are very unbecoming. For the first time, there are “frizzies” at the top of her head.

    1. I've seen more people commenting on her hair lately. Fine, of course, but I wonder what is so unbecoming to it. Grey hair is natural, it happens to all of us when we grow older.
I'd rather see a woman at 50 with hair that's is getting grey, than a woman in her seventies with pitch black hair. That looks so fake and unnatural.
But maybe I'm too simple in this; for me it's just a natural process we can accept. I got grey hair before I turned 30 - well, so be it.
Just my opinion, no offense to anyone 🙃

Jewelry at work? It is not for a moden woman. She is always sorrounded by Ministers (women) or as today the President of the Autonomous Communitie of Madrid, also in blue, nobody wears jewelry, it is not a wedding, it is bussines.

  5. Fantastic outfit. That cream coat looks so cozy (even though I wish she would wear a cape if she isn't putting her arms in). But love everything about this. Great shoe choice. King Felipe is quite handsome. I like how he coordinates his tie with her outfit.

  6. I really like the outfit of the woman in the blue dress and light blue blazer! She's in the background of most of the photos - I wonder who she is?

  7. Wow the combination of this shade of blue and soft cream. Beautiful!
I don't like the shoes though - in contrary to most others, I think 😉

The shoes make the outfit for me. The dress is so simple that it needed some interest. The shoes are just enough for someone like Letizia who is a minimalist when it comes to dressing. The coat is a nice contrast and really pulls the entire outfit together. As for the grey hair, most women I know have frizzy grey hair, not soft, smooth greys. The fact that it is on the top of her head is going to make the frizz and flyaways more noticeable. Coloring my grey hair certainly makes it less noticeable. I also understand some women like their grey. My mom has always said she has earned hers, and wears her grey with pride. ~d

This dress always looked cheap for me. Clings all over and one can see the plastic fabric. Coat is better. This colour combination is my favourite, but she did much better with other (quality) pieces in the past.

There is a close up the dress which shows that the ribbed pattern runs in several different directions without evidence of stitching , meaning more computer programming during the process of design and construction. The top of the dress features the ribbed pattern while the skirt and belt are just standard knit. The color suggest that the dress was dyed after it was made. Anytime more work is done to a piece, it adds to the overall production cost and subsequently at retail. I respectfully disagree with the idea that it looks cheap. Even 'plastic fabrics' vary in price, as some particularly high end items are made of synthetics. The denier used is sometimes a factor.

Blue, like red, is a color that always looks good on the queen. The ice cream colored coat provides an excellent contrast and highlights this shade of blue. The matching accessories complement the overall success of this outfit. The shoes and purse can be left outside my door at any time. Not everyone can pull off ribbed knit. It usually accentuates every unwanted kilo. A+ for posture.

    * Thank you for the information on the significance of April 23 as Book Day. So much better when we know why they are out and about instead of just comments on the garments.
    * In the spirit of fashion, a slightly shorter linen jacket in emerald green would make a nice complement for the other lady's blue dress.
