Today, King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden celebrates his 75th birthday. The King was born on Walpurgis Night, Friday 30 April. Walpurgis Night (ValborgsmΓ€ssoafton) is a traditional holiday celebrated on April 30 in Scandinavia, and also marks the arrival of spring. Just like last year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the traditional celebration of the King's birthday at the royal palace's courtyard, to be attended by the Armed Forces and public, was cancelled. This year, the King and Queen celebrates the King's birthday at the Royal Palace.
On the morning of April 30, a small birthday reception was held at Stockholm Royal Palace on the occasion of King Carl Gustaf's 75th birthday. During the reception, the King received the First Vice-Chairman of the Parliament, Asa Lindestam and Prime Minister Stefan LΓΆfven. At the reception, Queen Silvia was also present.
ReplyDeleteAnd he uses the pockets in his "très bien coupé" suit jacket to rest his hands.
DeleteJust like Prince Charles of England.
Queen Silvia keeps up her never failing standard of elegance with her Chanel style ? outfit.
A very Happy Birthday to King Carl XVI Gustaf.
He is still very handsome - my King ☺️
ReplyDeleteQueen Silvia is always beautiful but it is something about her haircolour today that does not mingle so well with her skin tone.

I agree, her hair color is a bit dark. But the main point is that she is back, almost normally although she still seems to pay particular attention to it, to her duties and style after the bone break she recently had at the right wrist.
DeleteA very stylish couple. Carl Gustaf is always dressed impeccably.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, King Carl Gustav! My favorite photo is the fourth one in which Queen Silvia is looking lovingly at her husband as he talks. Both look very stylish, and I love the queen's suit. I have noticed that in recent pictures, the queen always covers her right hand, and I'm wondering if her injury was more serious than we know. I hope she has fully recovered.
ReplyDeleteI have noticed that too. And her hand does look a bit unusual. At least she´s not hiding her arm and hand completely anymore.
DeleteWishing the King a very Happy Birthday! Very handsome.
