Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie met with Christoph Wiesner, new director of the Rencontres d’Arles, in the presence of Florence Reckinger, president of Lët’z Arles. During the meeting, future artistic projects born from the collaboration between the Rencontres d’Arles festival and the Lët'z Arles association were discussed.
The Rencontres d’Arles is an annual summer photography festival founded in 1970 by the Arles photographer Lucien Clergue, writer Michel Tournier and historian Jean-Maurice Rouquette. Lët'z Arles is an association that supports and promotes photography and artists linked to Luxembourg.
ReplyDeleteHello Tulipe33
DeleteYou say in your comment, "three ladies who are wearing pants/trousers".
I think the "lady" on the right in the photo is a man.
Could I be right?
😄 Yes, deadeggs, I do believe that is a man. I had to do a double-take myself. Without the receding hairline, I would have been on the fence. ~d
DeleteNo, the lady on the right, has hair pulled up in a bun, that is more difficult to see.
DeleteDeadeggs: you are right. His name is mentioned in the text.
Delete- SaF
The person on Stephanie's left is a man - Christoph Wiesner, new Director of the Rencontres d’Arles. (And the forehead is waaay too high for a woman's.)
DeleteThe lady on her right is Florence Reckinger, President of Lëtz’Arles.
~Laurel~
No, that’s a man on the right: Christoph Wiesner
DeleteLooks like the vote for "it's a man" has won.
DeleteA big thanks to all our competitors and please note that no further correspondence will be entered into.

Agree they are looking elegant as ever.
DeleteGood one, deadeggs - am looking forward to more "competitions" in the future with even bigger & better prizes! ~Laurel~
Delete🤣 That was super fun! I agree with Laurel. ~d
DeleteHer style is the same of the same. No effort at all!!
ReplyDeleteJ
Agreed, I expected better.
DeleteAlways great to see her! But, does she really has one trouser and blouse!? Please, go to a boutique and treat yourself on a nice dress, another trouser, etc. You don't have to change your personality, because this is who you are, but you are also working as a royal. A bit more interest in clothing won't harm you. We still love your smile!
ReplyDeleteIf you have experienced the situation of waiting and acting towards recovering your figure, you will remember that it is difficult to leave the ample style ... and an ample white top is very similar to another one, particularly since she is also bound to wearing a scarf, so little room for design details. I have understanding for her. And clothes are probably not her main concern...
ReplyDeleteWith just a little effort she could be fabulous. Her grooming is great and she comes across as sincere and kind.
ReplyDelete...ck
She is lovely, inside and out. The clothing style is that of a woman who may feel not quite ready to return to pre-pregnancy style. So many of the post pregnancy clothing lends little to the imagination, as comfort comes before style. She will regain her own unique style when she is ready and able. cali
ReplyDeleteI fully agree.
DeleteI think about all the biting critiques some of the other royals get, and they have always made more of an effort than Stephanie has. Money is not a problem for Stephanie. She can afford to get some decent wardrobe staples. These trousers are not the best cut for her body. A wider leg would take the emphasis off of her hips. A variety of blouses, blazers and jackets would give her a more professional look. Most of all, some cute dresses in the proper cut would take away all of the work--just add shoes and go. If she is going to dress in simple, plain trousers and blouses, adding interesting shoes would make a big difference. Her shoes are boring and show no effort. I would rather see a nice necklace than the scarf, which I find a little aging. Whether she cares about clothes or not, obviously she is required to wear them, and should feel obligated to look pulled together on official engagements. It shows her level of commitment to her role. It is just as easy to put on attractive clothes as it is to put on unattractive, unflattering clothes. If she doesn't want to put money into a stylist, she should use the services of a better department store. They can provide shoppers to help with fit and style, guiding her to a better wardrobe. They don't need to be expensive clothes, and she doesn't need a lot of clothes. She just needs the right clothes. I am a firm believer that women get a boost of confidence when they know they look good. She cannot use the new mom/new baby, "I don't care about clothes" excuses. There are expectations as the Hereditary Grand Duchess. It has nothing to do with her on a personal level. She seems absolutely delightful. It is time she take some pride in her appearance. ~d
ReplyDelete😀. We must have written our posts at the same time. With the same thoughts. Agree with everything you say, d.
DeleteI agree as well, d. Well put
DeleteI agree on many points except the trousers. There are no ideal trousers for her; if she wears wider ones the total volume will appear bigger and would make her look older. Those she is wearing have the advantage to make the lower part slim and youthful. I just think she could play more with colors. I don't see dresses as a solution.
DeleteGenerally, I try not to make negative comments, but what is wrong with Stephanie? Clothes don't need to be her first priority; she doesn't need to wear body hugging clothes or gorgeous dresses but she should make some effort. When she is appearing at an event such as this, she is doing her job and should dress as a professional, not as if she is running to Tesco. She may not have the budget of some other royals but if one loose white top is the same as any other, then change the colour or wear a blazer or some bright shoes. I'm not a fan of flat shoes but there are some lovely bright and quirky flats if she doesn't want to wear heels. I agree with everyone who says that she seems to be a lovely person but she really could do with improving her outfits for her public appearances
ReplyDelete>>She may not have the budget of some other royals<< You must be joking 🤣 The Grand Duchy family of Luxembourg is among the richest royal families in Europe if not the world. Stéphanie has more money than the Queen of England 😮 She is so stinking rich, she gives a shit what she looks like. She - just - does - not - care.
DeleteLuxembourg, a tiny little country with just over half a Million inhabitants is said to be the richest country of the world. Why is that? Because like other tiny fairy tale countries like Monaco or Liechtenstein their business model is to offer rich companies and private people residence just for the sake to spare taxes in their countries. Amazon, Apple, Pepsi, FedEx, Procter & Gamble, Heinz Ketchup, Ikea, Deutsche Bank, Ebay, Paypal......you name it, they all reside in Luxembourg.
Stéphanie no money? Now that is really laughable. She has her pockets full of money that belongs to other people.
We really were thinking along the same lines! ~d
DeleteBeth, you are absolutely right as for the business model of Luxembourg and Co. I wonder how long they will be allowed to carry on... I think times are changing.
DeleteDiscussing the wealth of royal families is a dangerous topic, I am afraid! and totally outside the "fashion blog" often mentioned. According to my quick search, Beth's info comes from the American press, and is contested by the royal family https://5minutes.rtl.lu/actu/luxembourg/a/1381387.html.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, they don't exhibit their supposed wealthiness. We can observe much worse attitude in this respect.
Discussing the wealth of any family is a dangerous topic. And I agree it should not be part of a fashion blog. It usually do not comment on politics. And I stopped commenting on Stéphanies annyoing appearance long ago. But when people start to think, that poor Stéphanie can't afford a decent wardrobe, I felt it is about time to put this right. And no, my infos don't come from the American Press. My family lives in Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium and France. We are very much interested in economics and politics and get our information from legitimate sources and not from the Yellow press. >>.... is contested by the royal family<<. Of course it is 😄 >>....they don't exhibit their supposed wealthiness<< Of course they don't 😄
DeleteStephanie is not comparable to Queen Elizabeth II, as she is not a monarch! Possible that the Grand Ducal family has as much money as Queen E but if so, it is not Stephanie who manages that money, but Grand Duke Henri!
ReplyDeleteIf all the members of the Grand Ducal family have got so much money, why have Stephanie & Tessy had to wear Maria Teresa's clothes (which did not fit them) all the time? If they've got endless money, why are Claire and Felix living in a castle & managing a vinyard that Claire's father, not the Grand Ducal family bought for them? Likewise, why is Louis working for his fiancé Scarlett's family business?
It is true that the country of Luxembourg is very rich because it is a tax haven but you do realize that that money belongs to private citizens and the state, not necessarily the Grand Ducal family?
Actually, they get around 10 million € from the state per year to run their household etc and are therefore among the "lower paid" monarchies. How much money they have privately is anyone's guess but once again, Stephanie or her husband obviously don't have control over that money (see above).
Maria Teresa wears Elie Saab and Armani, meanwhile Stephanie wears mid-range brands - just saying.
Wow, some of these comments. Nonetheless, I happen to think she looks good. Given her history in the fashion department, she looks fantastic. She's not trying to be the Duchess of Cambridge. She's a mom who's just trying to do her good royal work it seems without throwing 'fashion icon' into the mix, and that's fine by me. She isn't dressed offensively. She doesn't employ stylists. She just gets on with it. I myself, am not sure what's so offensive about her look. No, she isn't dressed for a fashion shoot, but the vitriol here seems a little much.
