Her skin is positively radiant in this colour. I’m not a fan of the bow tie dresses that she favours, but clearly it’s a style that she favours. This Acne dress has quite a vintage look with its damask fabric. An interesting choice for the occasion. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteAgree with all you said and have to admit she is a natural beauty.
DeleteI certainly agree. Her makeup is spectacular. I am not a fan of the dress, but it does look good on her.

CP Victoria has such a lovely complection these days. Though not a fan of the two colors of her top, she looks stunning with her bright eyes and lovely smile.
ReplyDeleteYes, her face in that color of make up looks nice. Pity the color of her neck doesn't match the color of face.
DeleteTotally agree with 01:10!
DeleteLike what I can see of this dress. It's a nice colour and I think the neck detail is flattering for the Crown Princess. (Just praying that she's not wearing the truly hideous boots that the model is wearing. She looks like a little girl who's wearing her Dad's shoes with her dress!!) Love her earrings. Good look overall.
ReplyDeleteFully agree, I was about to write the same.... particularly about the boots. Heavy boots with a dress is an nonnegotiable NO, although we see them more and more...
DeleteAnnie and Mary, you are so right! What are the designers thinking? Why those boots with such a dress, do they want an "interesting contrast" or whatever? Is there one person on earth who finds that chic??
DeleteI do not like the dress as worn by the model, but Victoria wears it very well, from the part I see in these pictures. The soft colors are very complimentary. I very much like her hair parted in the center, and her makeup is very feminine.
ReplyDeleteI rather like the bows she often wears; reminds me of her mother's choices in her early years in Sweden. The colour and print look very classy and they suit her well, in my opinion. However, I thought first it is a blouse, and that would have been sufficient; the whole dress is too much in my thinking. - Ellie
ReplyDeleteHmmm....
ReplyDeleteThat fabric, apart from it's association with table linens, might work better as a blouse worn under a jacket, so that we only see a little of it. Otherwise it's too much. I don't like it as a full dress, and I like the pattern of the dress even less. It's quite awkward.
Not in favour of the colour for Victoria either. It's too close to her skin colour and washes her out.

I think her blush was a little too intense
ReplyDeleteBack to granny dresses, ahh. Not the best dress (the bland color washes her out and the cut is weird) but neverless Victoria looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteOn the side note: that Acne model looks painfully thin... Swedish design or not I wouldn't buy clothes from the brands that use skeletal models, especially considering Victoria's past battle with anorexia...

Why does she need new clothes for every online meeting?
ReplyDeleteDo you or did you wear the same clothes everyday to your work ?
DeleteVictoria has a relatively small wardrobe and repeats her clothes often. She just happens to be wearing a few new pieces. ~d
DeleteAdding to -d's comments, yes a few new pieces, but mainly blouses. She is among the best ones in repeating clothes.

ReplyDeleteSneakers can give a feminine look, however not with a dress, and aaand these are particularly ugly.
DeleteI’m sorry: just a terrible design, wouldn’t suit anybody,

Sometimes I wonder why none of the royals who have gone through corona disease seem to have had any complications? Let me be clear, I don't wish this on anyone, Long Covid, but here in Germany they really scare us with long-term consequences. Do all royals just have super doctors? I am also privately insured and always get 1A treatment. But with the royals, no matter what age group, no matter whether they have a previous illness, they are all quickly healthy again as if nothing had happened....all not so bad after all? I wonder....Frieda
ReplyDeleteCovid is not a disease. Cancer, diabetes, Parkinson's are diseases - you usually have them long-term or life-long. Tough to deal with.
DeleteCovid is an illness/sickness. You are ill/sick with a cold or flu or Covid for a few days/weeks & then recover. Most people have no lasting effects.

To Frieda:
DeleteCorona is not a dangerous disease. It´s an infection that healthy people with functioning immune-system will get through without difficulty. The recovery rate is close to 100% and indeed comparable to the flu. Don´t let media scare you with their around-the-clock alarmist "reporting". Normal hygiene and common sense is all you need. All the other enforced measures, especially in Germany of late, are symptoms of a political crisis, not a health crisis.
@Vanessa: A huge AMEN to what you wrote!! ~Laurel~
DeleteI like the fabric of the dress but not the design of it. Maybe the fabric is better suited for some fancy upholstery in her home.
ReplyDeleteAnd while I thought that that same make-up and hair looked good in connection with that sharp white outfit the other day, I think it looks old-fashioned librarian style here. She only needed some glasses suspended from a chain around her neck to complete that look. The bow blouses are never a good look in my view, but for them to at least get a pass, they need to be combined with a young, contemporary styling. Victoria didn´t manage to do that, and instead ends up looking matronly and her outfit dated.
The model looks shockingly thin, and the dress looks awful on her, especially combined with those shoes.
