At a Council of State meeting held at Stockholm Royal Palace on March 28, it was announced that the name of the newborn son of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia will be Prince Julian Herbert Folke. The meeting took place in the presence of King Carl Gustaf, Crown Princess Victoria and officials of the Government. Prince Julian has been granted the Duchy of Halland. His full title is Prince Julian Herbert Folke of Sweden, Duke of Halland.
On the morning of the same day, King Carl Gustaf, Queen Silvia and Prince Carl Philip also attended a Te Deum service at the Chapel of the Royal Palace. Due to the ongoing pandemic, no photo shoot took place during the Council of State meeting and Te Deum service.
Julian is the Duke of Halland, which is the former duchy of Prince Bertil – the uncle to King Carl Gustaf and adored great-uncle of Prince Carl Philip. Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia now live in Prince Bertil’s former home, Villa Solbacken.
Princess Sofia gave birth to her third son at Danderyd Hospital on the morning of March 26, 2021 at 11.19am. The baby prince joined his big brothers Prince Alexander, 4, and Prince Gabriel, 3. The new baby is seventh in line of succession to the Swedish throne and the eighth grandchild for King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia.
Julian est un très bon choix ; il me tarde de voir des photos du nouveau-né !
ReplyDeleteVery nice name, all three boys have exclusivly beautiful names, I really like them a lot. It would be interesting to know who choosed those names - parents alone or together with other family members.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Carl and Sofia on the new addition

Hello Lea.
DeleteAre you referring to "someone" specifically or "someone" generally?
If it's the former, why don't you put a name to this "someone" who could learn things?
