On March 19, 2021, The Earl and Countess of Wessex visited the NHS Seacole Centre in Surrey. During the visit, they received information on the journey of the facility which was set up in just 35 days last year. The temporary community hospital at Headley Court was opened in June in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Earl and Countess spoke with staff and volunteers about their experiences and thanked them for their efforts on the frontline during the pandemic. The Countess wore a herringbone print wool coat from Sportmax.

ReplyDeleteYes, you are right, Tulipe
DeleteI agree with Tulipe33 about the coat. The missing belt is a problem for me. If she had left the belt with the coat, even while wearing it open, it would have looked better because we would have understood why it was so shapeless. It is difficult to see, but I think the belt loop is visible. I don't like the way Edward's pants look. They are too stretched out and baggy. While probably comfortable, they look quite old and worn. Worn with this jacket, which I always think must be a favorite of his, he reminds me of a very "settled" gentleman. Since we see Sophie on her own so often, it is nice to see them together. ~d
ReplyDeleteI agree 100% about Prince Edward frequently wearing this particular jacket, I can remember it from at least 10 years ago - and yes the stretched-out knees and overall baggy, threadbare look are clues that it's time for a new pair of trousers (are they corduroy?) It does look as though PE has lost a bit of weight - congrats! Maybe he'll reward himself with some new additions to his wardrobe, or maybe Sophie can divert some of her clothing allowance to Edward. I actually like Sophie's silhouette and the more casual feel of a coat left open for this event. Although I do like the belted look on the model I think the belt is too long and would prefer it not hang below the bottom hem of the coat. Sophie appears almost petite which may be why she didn't wear the extra-long belt. S.M.
DeleteSophie needs colours. Blue is her colour. But - she is real lady- very very sympatic.

The grey coat is okay--perhaps if worn with a bright sweater or scarf it would have more impact but it's very colourless and, as stated above, shapeless without the belt on it. On the other hand, Prince Edward had plenty of colour in his outfit but he looks like an elderly gentleman form the shires. What on earth was he thinking?
