The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have made a surprise virtual appearance to celebrate St Patrick's Day and praise the 'friendship between the UK and Ireland'. The Duke and Duchess shared a video message to Irish people to mark St Patrick’s Day. Their brief clip started off with The Duke sending his wishes in Irish. The Duchess then joined in saying: "We are delighted to wish you all a very happy St Patrick's Day."
The Cambridges were joined in the video by American President Joe Biden, Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Jacinda Ardern, Prime Minister of New Zealand. Other world leaders who took part in this video were Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, the Norwegian Prime Minister, Erna Solberg, and Japan's Princess Takamado.
Japan's Princess Takamado is the star for me here. Not only a nice rare appearance, but her outfit looks lovely and her smile is warm and engaging.
ReplyDeleteI like the green of Williams sweater; not in love with the shade of Kate's top.

I agree. I am completely bowled over by the incredible tailoring and fit of nearly all the Japanese Royal family's clothes. That suit and blouse is so very old fashioned but the way it is made and fitted is just extraordinary.
DeleteI think that the colour of Catherines jacket just does not suit her colouring or at any rate the colour she dyes her hair these days. The jacket is actually very nice only not on her. It is just the wrong shade of green for her.
I agree. Princess Takamado looks so refined and I love listening to her speak English - her diction is lovely. I think Kate's colour choice is perfectly on trend. Bright colours to combat the covid gloom.
DeleteAll wonderfull, but princess Takamado stole my heart!!
ReplyDeleteI think Kate would look better in pink or red or white or light blue.. But she still looks great. First of all, she chose a good size.I admire Kate's strength and composure.
ReplyDeleteThe same jacket looks terrible on the model. I consider why - maybe because she's hunched over and the jacket is too big and hangs on her like on a hanger.

She is wearing green because they are celebrating St. Patrick's Day and green is the colour of this Irish day...
DeleteKate is in green for St. Patrick's Day, as she is every year. ~d
DeleteCatherine, Wm, look lovely, though he mumbles a bit when speaking, especially when he turns to look at Catherine.
ReplyDeleteThe Japanese princess has some artfully drawn eyebrows. :)
I like the Kate's top so much. So fresh, spring and full with life. This colour makes me feel happy. Excellent choice, Kate!
ReplyDeleteI like this video compilation. Unfortunately I don't understand exactly what William says to Kate, I think something "cheeky", but it comes across well. Both look good, I like that Kate tends to have a fuller face, maybe it's the hair. The green doesn't look bad on her, it's just chosen for the occasion, but it looks devastating on the Zara model. ReplyDelete"How come you got that easy bit?" replies Wills to Kate, btw. Frieda
ReplyDeleteI absolutely like the short conversation between them, so charming! They both look great!
DeleteBezaubernde Catherine :) :)
ReplyDeleteI actually like this shade of green if only because is the quintessential Saint Pattys Day color.
ReplyDeleteI think this jacket could be easily repurposed with white skinny pants and wedges for a spring look, or with a pair of jeans. I also like the fact that she is wearing affordable clothes. I think she looks lovely, trendy and very youthful.

Love this spring like jacket. It's another in the "I want one of those" category and since it's Zara it might be possible. We are used to seeing Catherine in pinks, lilacs, reds and blues so it's good to have this vibrant green for a change.
ReplyDeleteA great day for the Irish; the messages from around the world is heartening.I like Duchess Catherine's green jacket; not sure if she is wearing the shorts. I was once on a plane from London to Lyon; The Republic of Ireland was in the Rugby World Cup; there in business class was a chap in a Leprechaun outfit ;so cheery, lovely people.
