On Thursday, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia held a memorial service for the victims of the coronavirus. The memorial service, which was televised, took place at the chapel of the Drottningholm Palace, just outside Stockholm, on the one-year anniversary of the first death of the pandemic in Sweden. Prince Carl Philip, Princess Sofia, Princess Christina and Thord Magnusson attended the memorial service.
Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel did not attend the memorial service. Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia took the Crown Princess couple's seats at the memorial service. Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel could not attend as they both tested positive for COVID-19 earlier in the day.
According to the statement made by the Royal Court, the Crown Princess and Prince Daniel have mild symptoms and “are feeling well considering the circumstances.”. Immediately after the symptoms of illness appeared, the Crown Princess, Prince Daniel, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar were quarantined at home. The Name Day celebration of the Crown Princess at the Royal Palace, which was going to take place on March 12, is cancelled.
Princess Sofia is always beautiful and confident lady. True support for Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel.

Bad news for Victoria and Daniel : Victoria is a healthy and strong person but Daniel is likely to be vulnerable because of his situation of immuno-depression due to his kidney transplant. I wish them the best.
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly what I wanted to write, Mary! May they get well soon!
DeleteWell said, Mary. Hope they have only a mild dose of this dreadful illness.
DeleteI think it is rather surprising that Daniel didn't take extra precautions given his health status. Carl Gustaf spoke out against the way the country has handled the pandemic during his Christmas broadcast. I am sure he and Silvia are dismayed that a second child and spouse have now been infected. I hope both the King and Queen, as well as Estelle and Oscar remain healthy. May they have a speedy recovery. ~d
DeleteMy sentiments as well. Hope they get well soon.

I wish Victoria and Daniel the best.

A nice and thoughtful gest on behalf of the Royal family of Sweden.
ReplyDeleteIt's not a fashion parade but the outfits are correct for the occasion.
I like Queen Silvia's blouse which gives a discreete touch of colour to her outfit.
Nice to see Princess Christina again. I think she'll soon be 80 years old.
If my memory is right, she is the youngest of King Carl's three sisters.
My thoughts are for Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel.
I wish them both a speedy recovery to good health.
Yes, Princess Christina is the youngest sister and she is born in August 1943.
DeleteThe King has four sisters.

I've read that he is the youngest of the the five children.
It appears that they are all still alive.
A bit like Prince Philippe of England.
From a family of 5 children. He is the last in the family and has four elder sisters.
Opps, sorry, lets get back to fashion before the moderator starts banging on our computer screens.
And again, my thoughts are for a speedy return to good health for Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel.
Very sad to learn that Victoria and Daniel are tested positive to covid, we are sending our prayers to a fast and easy recovery.
