On March 16, 2021, Queen Maxima paid a working visit to the Nederlands Dans Theater in The Hague. The working visit aimed to receive information about the impact of the corona pandemic on the dance company. The Nederlands Dance Theater (NDT) is an international dance company that makes contemporary dance from its home base in The Hague.
Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT) is one of the world’s leading contemporary dance companies, already for 60 years. The company consists of two groups of dancers: NDT 1 for dancers at the top of their career and NDT 2 for talented young professionals.
She looks wonderful. Great colour combination.

ReplyDeleteAlways happy to see Queen Maxima. Positives, I love the colour of this outfit, the cloak, the bag and the shoes, and the coordinated mask. The cloak/cape in particular looks wonderful (and such an improvement on the coat around the shoulders but not actually put on properly Look) The sweater is okay, but I don't think it is flattering tucked into the skirt. The skirt may well be of expensive leather but it doesn't look it to my eyes at least. Love the patterned blouse teamed with the wide legged orange trousers in the third picture.
ReplyDeleteThat is one ugly outfit...... unflattering colour of the pantyhose, does nothing for her legs, the skirt made of horribly stiff and illfitting material. Her own unelegant posture does not help. It makes you wonder...... with all that money, why this?? And never ever a decent bra in sight....

Like Lily A. said: great color combination. And Lily T. is right with the color of the tights.
ReplyDeleteI'm not over the moon, but the Queen looks well shaped here and I definitely like her smile :-)
Love the cherry red combination. Nicly put together. Love the cape/coat.
ReplyDeleteFor the hair, I'll let my fellow blog hair experts chew over that point.
I like everything except the skirt and the shoes, even her hair I like. I do not like leather at the best of times so maybe I am predigest. I agree that the colour of the pantyhose do not flatter her legs. It could be the choice of shoes. Queen Maxima has rather heavy calves and I think that the somewhat dainty very pointy patent leather pumps she is so fond of just do not flatter her leg shape at all. I always think she would look so much better in a lower somewhat heavier heel and square toed or rounder toed shoes sort of more in keeping with her general height and weight, Those elevated spikes make her look like an unbalanced wader bird.
ReplyDeleteFrom a Dutch site I have the information that the skirt is of a natural tissue, treated to look like leather.
ReplyDeleteBurgundy is a good, strong colour for everyone I think.
The combination with the blouse is ok, but the colour of the panty is horrible.
And always the same shoes: I call them “ shoes- without-fantasy” for myself.

Horrible. Piernas separadas, poco elegante y no sabe vestir acorde a su peso. Esos pelos son un desastre
ReplyDeleteI like above all the color combination and the styling of everything, except the skirt which is missing suppleness. Coming to the legs, if i can say so, I thing the panty fits quite well with the outfit, it is not too shiny as we may have seen earlier, as far as we can trust pictures on such a topic. I like the shoes! They are classy, the best fitting with the rest! Fantasy shoes are ok as summer shoes but not with this outfit. And the hair is fine. The cape is great.
ReplyDeleteI just want to comment about Maxima's shoes. In reference to Judy's comment, in my opinion, one good thing about Maxima wearing plain pumps is that she can be very unpredictable with her clothes. The last thing she needs is the same whimsy finding its way into her footwear. When she does wear something other than a solid colored pump, very often it is a miss. She has worn shoes that are too small or are years out of fashion. A classic pump keeps her out of trouble.
ReplyDeleteIn response to nalerina's comments, it is generally understood that squared or round toed shoes are not elongating to the foot. With Maxima's height, and as nalerina has pointed out, her leg and body shape, I think it is the most flattering on her to keep the pointed toe. It elongates the line of the leg, which is flattering for everyone, but especially for a heavier leg. A squared toe would give an abrupt stop to the foot and would look stumpy. The same principle goes for a higher heel. Giving her some added height will help her appear a little slimmer. She needs that help because she struggles to dress her body well. She and Mathilde both tend to accentuate their flaws, making them look heavier than they probably are. As long as they can comfortably walk in heels, there is no reason they shouldn't continue to do so. I am speaking from a fashion only perspective only. Each time I read comments against high heels, it makes me think the person commenting can't wear them or walk in them. You can't fake being able to wear or walk in heels. Either you can or you can't. These ladies will lower their heels when they need to. ~d
in answer to your helpful comment I did not say no heels I said SLIGHTLY lower and thicker not stilettos and a square toed pump looks slimmer and longer than a shoe with 30 degree angle pointed toes. Those shoes she has on are not really classic pumps but pointy 1960's stilettos which usually only look good on a much slenderer person like Letitia or Mary. This person commenting on them still owns some beautiful T-strap stilettos from the 1960's kept because they were so beautiful and could still wear them but realises there comes a time and body shape when the two do not go together.
Delete@nalerina We can agree to disagree about the shape of the toe on a shoe. The common style pumps we see now, with the pointed toe and stiletto heel, are still around because they are so flattering to the leg and foot. The shoes women wore in the 40's or 70's, for example, have not had longevity because they aren't as flattering. As I said, I was only speaking from a fashion perspective. I never mentioned heel thickness, only heel height. I ended my comment by saying they would lower their heels when they need to, meaning each woman will go to lower heels when her body tells her to. My comment about people who are against high heels was not aimed at you. It was a general comment for those that have made comments in the past, because of their own personal bias, that no one should be wearing heels. I'm sorry if you felt that was aimed at you. I would keep the shoes from the 60's as well! Maybe you could get away with wearing them for very short periods of time? If not, still really great to have. ~d
DeleteMaxima is so joyous and vibrant - she looks wonderful and her smile (even with the mask) is so upbeat and happy. I love her ! Cindy
ReplyDeleteI've got a soft spot for Queen Maxima.
DeleteIf perfection is not her forté, so what. She makes me feel normal with all my faults and fashion failings.
When she's washed and polished for a state occasion/banquet etc. she looks stunning.
I think she looks fabulous. Sweater, skirt, cape, shoes, bag, tights, mask...everything looks wonderful. And, her smiling eyes life my spirit. Thank you Queen Maxima.
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of the colors, the leather looks cheap, even though its' probably not, and hair all a mess as usual. She could look so good, wish she would put in more of an effort. uri
ReplyDeleteI like every single piece ( except for the pantyhose ) , however as usual she just does too much of a good thing, 6 different tones of red, every piece has a different texture, the total effect is overdone and a little messy. What I can’t get over is her bra or lack thereof, it really spoils every single outfit.

Where on earth do you all see "heavier legs or calves" on Maxima? If you compare her to Letizia, maybe - but that's a whole different type of frame. Letizia is petite and very delicate, while Maxima is tall and has curves, but all very well balanced in my opinion.
