On March 17, 2021, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark attended the Royal Life Guards' Parade 2021 at the Life Guards' Barracks in Copenhagen and presented the "Queen's Clock" to one guard for his exceptional service. This year, the selected guard became Jeppe Nørhave Illum and he received the clock from the Queen.
The handing over of "The Queen's Clock" has been a tradition since 1970, when Frederik IX first presented a clock at a farewell parade. "The King's Clock" changed its name as "The Queen's Clock" at the change of throne in 1972, and The Queen has since then continued the tradition.
Même tenue que l’an dernier ,mais cette année les gants sont noirs et il ne pleut pas .
ReplyDeleteBibi original et manteau qu'elle a l'air de beaucoup aimer ; c'est une tenue qui lui sied particulièrement !
ReplyDeleteBoth the Bibi and the coat seem to be her favorites indeed, personally I would exclude the Bibi from that selection in spite of its originality.
ReplyDeleteQn Margaret would definitely get the 1st prize for re-use of her closet. She cannot be blamed for that, probably appealing to Danish people.
Her hat (or Bibi) is what she wore last year for the same ceremony .
ReplyDeleteIn fact, from good and reliable sources, I understand that it's a satellite dish that keeps her connected via a special Danish satellite to her security guards.
Must take my medication now and have a rest. It's been a long day.
Dear Deadeggs, This is a ridiculous, sarcastic comment. The Danish Queen is very tall and hats are therefore a sartorial problem.
DeleteDear Mary, Rewearing clothes is a sign of good breeding in Europe, particularly in old, wealthy families.
Virginia
Dear Virginia. I must offer you all my apologies for my comment.
DeleteI hadn't realised that light hearted jokes and humour had been banned on this site/blog.
Perhaps our blog master, Helen, could put a warning sign at the top of the page informing us of this rule.
I feel so humbled.
Have a nice day.
Hi Virginia, I am very much in favor of re-wearing, I wrote it recently about Mathilde. But as always too much is too much, particularly for a very special hat.
