On March 16, 2021, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain visited the Royal Tapestry Factory, a leading historical manufacturer in the field of textile manufacturing and restoration, on the occasion of its 300th anniversary. Established in the 18th century by Philip V of Spain, the Royal Tapestry Factory has a large collection of tapestries, carpets and designs dating from the 16th-20th centuries.

The Royal Tapestry Factory is one of the most emblematic buildings in Madrid. In 2006, the building was declared as an Official Asset of Cultural Interest (Bien de Interés Cultural) for its impressive neo-Mudejar style.

  3. As so often, so this time: elegant, feminine, tasteful.
The blouse - since the queen can wear black very well - looks great on her.
I can give her a pass on the light gray of the skirt here, because the blouse contours Letizia's face. Usually, light gray isn't the best choice for her.
In addition, the skirt fits fantastic, the uneven hem is okay, but a normal cut midi skirt would have been very nice too.
    All in all, brilliant again.

I love almost everything about this look, although I think it could benefit from a piece of jewelry to soften the long expanse of decolletage - a thin chain with a small pendant, or long earrings of shiny metal or sparkly crystals. My real critique is of her hairstyle. In my opinion this type of Ballerina bun belongs on little girls no older than 9, or call it a Granny bun and let women over 80 wear it. Not on stylish Queen Letizia. Up-do yes, top-knot bun no. S.M.

    1. Indeed the ballerina bun seems to have been imported from Sweden, that is not a good idea.

Love to read well-written, constructive criticism, especially when delivered with a light touch.

This is a great ensemble, and I'm partial to this uneven hemline.

Maybe, Q Leti forgot to change her clocks and didn't have time for a better frisure?! ;-)

My crafty sisters and I would love to visit this tapestry factory, it looks super interesting.

    3. This grey haired granny objects violently to hearing that she should wear such a bun. If anything is going to make granny looked aged its just such a bun. Only the very young or young looking can really get away with it. Usually a messy bun actually looks better . Although a messy bun would suit Letitia beautifully I don't think she has the type of hair that lends itself to it.

A "proud of her hard-earned platinum locks" auntie here, complete with messy bun which I sport for many of my non-formal engagements and appearances aka errands!😉

Not my favourite outfit - but with her figure, pretty much anything looks good. That skirt doesn’t do her any favours, neither the cut nor the colour schema.

    1. I agree with your comments, Tulipe. Even when not at her best, she is still elegant.

    2. Hi Tulipe, on this occasion I don't agree with you. A jupe-crayon would have made the total look darker and even more dull. I am pleased that at least a bit of fantasy comes from the skirt.
My impression is that in the last weeks she has tried to look more discreet and re-using her clothes, likely in view of strong criticism about the Spanish monarchy right now.

  7. Although I don't like raggedy hems, this is a really smart and classy look. As usual for Queen Letizia, everything is just so well coordinated

La reine est superbe. Le chemisier tel que porté par la souveraine (sans effet blousant comme sur le mannequin présenté plus bas) est très élégant et flatteur. Accessoires parfaits! Le chignon de danseuse est parfait avec cette jupe dansante.

Actually I love this ballerina bun, on the queen, she has the face and neck for it, I think she looks very feminine and elegant. Graceful and chic as usual.
