King Harald, Queen Sonja, Crown Prince Haakon, Crown Princess Matte-Marit, Princess Märtha Louise and Princess Astrid attended the funeral service of Erling Sven Lorentzen at Asker Church outside Oslo. Erling Lorentzen passed away at the age of 98 on March 9.
Erling Sven Lorentzen was the husband of Princess Ragnhild, the son-in-law of King Olav and the brother-in-law of King Harald. Princess Ragnhild is buried in Asker cemetery and Erling Lorentzen will be laid to rest in the same grave as his wife.
IMHO CP MM coat is a bit too short ... I don't think it is appropriate of CP Haakon to show the wristwatch so clearly, also I find the sleeves and pants too short ...
ReplyDeleteHaakon´s suit looks terrible on him. Too short, too tight, too small overall. I agree that his watch is out of place here, looks more like a sports watch.
DeleteC'est le pantalon de Martha Louise qui est affreux pour moi .
DeleteFor me its Martha Louise's trousers which is awful
Fred, I quite like ML's trousers.
DeleteI don't think it's too short, I do think it's too small. Nothing wrong with that, as with many of us, the things be bought years ago may not still fit today. It's also been worn by Ingrid Alexandra, I think it would be better to gift it to her.
DeleteMy condolences to the Royal Family!
Strangly enough when we see other royals in a short coat we never see a comment about it. Why? Who decide if a coat it to short or not? Do you know the custom in Norway? This s a funeral and all you people do it trash their clothes that normal people don't see anything wrong with. And wristwatch..what? Seriously this is just to stup.. The family are in morning my thoughts go out to them all. Gertrude
DeleteOMG! MM coat goes to her knee. Sonjas coat goes to her knee, ML coat goes to her knee and Astrids coat goes to her knee, but MM is to short? Wath is all that about? This is to stupid.
DeleteGertrude and Louise
DeleteThank you!
This is a funeral ,not a catwalk and some kind of respect would be necessary.
DeleteI agree with you, Gertrude and Luise.
My condolences to all of them.
P.
MM'S coat may belong to Ingrid. It's the coat Ingrid wore to Ari's funeral.
ReplyDeleteE.B.B.
It belongs to Crown Princess Mette-Marit, but it was borrowed to Ingrid Alexandra for the funeral last year. M-M first wore the coat in 2014.
DeleteWith the opaque tights I think Mette Marit's coat is fine but Haakon's watch does look strange and out of place with a formal suit. As Fred says Martha Louise's trousers are a very strange choice for funeral attire. Good to see King Harald out although obviously not yet fully recovered. from his knee surgery. I'd love to know who the others are in photos. Did the family not live in brazil? When did they return to Norway or are they just buried there?
ReplyDeleteThey did live in Brazil but Erling Lorentzen returned to live in Norway at some point after Princess Ragnhild's death (not sure when exactly). Their two daughters Ragnhild & Ingeborg also live in Norway & can be seen in the 8th picture from the top. Their son Haakon lives in Brazil and was unable to travel to Norway due to Covid, unfortunately. Also in the 8th picture, behind Queen Sonja is Erling Lorentzen's girlfriend.
DeleteIt's kinda hard to separate them all with the face masks and all, but I can point out a few...
DeleteThe blonde woman with bows on her coat between Queen Sonja and Princess Märtha Louise is Ebba Løvenskiold. She was the current girlfriend/partner of Erling Lorentzen, and she herself comes from the Løvenskiold family (Dano-Norwegian nobility). She attended King Harald and Queen Sonja's birthday gala in 2017, wearing a red dress and a modern-looking diamond tiara.
The man escorting Princess Astrid is her youngest child, Carl-Christian Ferner.
I'm assuming that some of the men carrying the casket are sons-in-law and a granddaughter's husband. Check out victoriaragnafalcao (a granddaughter) on instagram.
Princess Ragnhild and Erling Lorentzen's children aren't really seen in these photos. Norwegian media reported that their daughters, Ingeborg and Ragnhild, resides in Norway atm. Their son Haakon, who lives in Brazil, wasn't able to attend the funeral due to corona travel restrictions. Sad times!
Thank you both very much for this information. Appreciated
DeleteIt is a family funeral, not a state occasion. Typical family attire for a private funeral.
