King Felipe and Queen Letizia attended the 19th edition of the concert "In Memoriam" at the National Auditorium of Music in Madrid. This year, the concert given in honour of victims of terrorism brought together, as every year, the main institutions of the State, Government, political parties and different social and economic strata of the Spanish society.

The concert is held annually on the eve of March 11, the day on which the 193 victims of the attacks perpetrated in Madrid on that date in 2004 are commemorated. The objective of The Association of Victims of Terrorism, which organized the concert, is to promote and disseminate democratic values, the defense of human rights, plurality and the freedom of citizens. The Association was founded in 1981 by victims of terrorist attacks.

  1. Letizia is for me the most stylish and well dressed royal. However on this occasion I just feel that the whole 'look' misses. It is just uncoordinated and each element misses. I will be interested to see others comments.

I agree that Letizia is the best dressed royal. She can carry of almost everything, even this outfit. I do not like it particularly, but I would not call it dreadful either.

I agree. The whole ensemble is out of proportion.
      A rare miss for her.

    3. I have to agree, even though I don't want to because I adore her fashion. However, this doesn't work. The sleeves on the top have nothing to balance with. The pants are so slim (which would normally be fine), it makes the sleeves seem even more out of proportion. Plus, with the tight bun, no balance.

    1. I would not call it dreadful but I also feel it is a miss. I normally dislike pants at what I call "at half mast" and I have gradually got used to high stiletto heels and narrow trousers but I think from the waist down she looks very elegant. However the sleeves are just a disaster. She is just too slender and delicate (I can't think of a really good word to describe what I mean) to get away with such heavy appearing sleeves. They may be physically lightweight and taffeta or something like it but the appearance is heavy. and uncomfortable.

I don't think this is bad at all. I would not like the blouse if the sleeves were puffed to the extent that the model has done. This is a simple outfit, worn for an evening event (I assume), so her outfit can be more fanciful. The blouse works because Letizia is so slender. I don't think the volume of the sleeves would work if the pants were wider or the wearer was larger. The proportions would be off. She does the right thing here with here accessories and keeps them simple with just the beautiful earrings. Her final touch is the shoe, which also elevates the outfit from day to evening. ~d

Not my favorite look of Letizia's. Her top has longer sleeves than the models throwing the proportions off. Her black pants are nice but don't enhance the overall look. I'm missing the detail of the cummerbund waist. Great shoes.

Manuel Pertegaz was the designer of Letizia's wedding gown. Considered one of the best as long as Balenciaga. He passed away unfortunately and now his nieces run the bussines.
It is hig couture, so the clothes are very 'special'.

  9. The outfit is appropriate for the occasion (celebrating the victims of terrorism) so it is hard. She is wearing the top in a softer way than the model, it is losing part of the creativity of the design. For still well done.

  11. Letizia nunca decepciona. Un atuendo sobrio como corresponde a la ocasión, pero con un detalle vanguardista y de Alta Costura en las mangas. Muy bonitos los zapatos, el bolso y el peinado... Y su marido :))

  13. As for hairstyle, the blond lady in the second and third photo obviously chose Queen Maxima as her role model.
